LCSW, 7 years of experience
As a second-generation Asian American and mother of a young child, I understand the complex challenges immigrant families have in balancing cultural and family expectations with finding personal fulfillment. After experiencing significant work stress in my previous career, I began a lifelong journey of self-discovery and inner healing. I decided to become a therapist because of the inspiration and strength I received from my own therapy. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients to provide courage and hope as they navigate various challenges in family, relationships, school/work, and the self.
Our first session is a time for us to get to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, what you would like to work on, and any goals or hopes you have. My goal is for you to leave each session with more hope, clarity, and confidence that healing and growth is possible for you.
My therapy work is deeply shaped by a wealth of lived experience, which has helped me become a naturally reflective, compassionate, and resilient person. These qualities are at the heart of how I show up for my clients—with deep empathy, attentive listening, and a judgment-free space where you can truly be yourself. At the same time, I believe real healing happens when we’re gently challenged to look at the patterns that no longer serve us. I support clients not only with warmth and affirmation, but also with honest, thoughtful feedback and practical tools to navigate difficult situations and relationships. When needed, I help call out conflicting behaviors or thought patterns in a supportive way to increase your self-insight and self-awareness—so you can make empowered, lasting changes. My approach is collaborative, nurturing, and grounded in both compassion and clarity. I walk alongside you as a guide and partner in your growth.
Life can be difficult when you're carrying the weight of family expectations, cultural or societal pressures, or personal struggles you don't always feel comfortable sharing. I work with individuals and families navigating: -Family conflicts, especially in immigrant cultural backgrounds -Parenting challenges and school-related issues -Marital conflicts, separation, or divorce -Infertility, Postpartum, and/or family planning -Work stress and self-esteem challenges -Financial challenges and/or career transitions -Grief, trauma, chronic illnesses, and end-of-life planning My approach integrates evidence-based practices with cultural sensitivity, humor, and connection. If you're feeling stuck in painful patterns or difficult relationships, I invite you to reach out and begin your journey toward greater clarity, connection, and emotional freedom.
I use an integrative approach of a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to inform my practice. A few of these include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialetic behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness based therapies, acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), and logos therapy. Although similar issues and problems arise from many clients, I am client-centered and work to develop a treatment plan based on the unique differences each client presents with in each session.
