Hi, I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in northeast Pennsylvania with over 25 years experience as a psychotherapist. I received my bachelors degree from Swarthmore College, my masters degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and I completed a post graduate fellowship in psychiatry at the Yale University Psychiatric Institute. Over the years I've worked with clients of all ages struggling with a wide variety of disorders. Primarily, I help adults 18+ who are experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and alcohol use disorders. I view our work together as a collaborative venture where I help you to identify troublesome thoughts and behaviors and replace them with positive ones. We will accomplish this utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and other forms of therapy as needed.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will be focused upon getting to know each other, identifying the challenges you are facing and understanding why now you are seeking help. My questions will guide you through this process and allow us to develop a plan for addressing your specific needs and guide us through subsequent sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am warm and engaging with broad clinical training and experience. I enjoy working with my clients and measuring progress together.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with individuals who are motivated to address the thoughts and behaviors that are causing difficulties. I also enjoy working with clients who are facing life challenges - illnesses, losses and the many difficulties we all encounter during our lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I was trained in CBT during my fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in 1998-99. I utilize forms and homework to help my clients positively reframe their automatic responses to life challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I trained in DBT and ran the DBT program at a mental health agency in Bradford CT. I incorporate elements of DBT into my work with clients.

Eclectic

My approach is tailored to each client's specific needs. I have always had strong instincts about what will work during a therapy session.
