My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

I provide Christian counseling regularly to at least half of my clients. I read and share scriptures and biblically based principles with my Christian clients as requested. I also encourage Christian practicing clients to pray and read the Bible.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help my clients to reflect on how their thoughts influence their mood, behaviors and decisions. I teach them to re-evaluate their thoughts as needed to improve life functioning.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I help my clients to evaluate their thoughts regarding traumas they have experienced. I teach them how to reframe trauma in a healthier way, for instance by not blaming themselves when others have mistreated them.

Trauma Informed Care

I recognize that most individuals seeking counseling have experienced some form of trauma. I help them to explore how traumatic experiences contribute to their current systems and treat them accordingly.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I understand that individuals of color have life experiences that are unique compared to others and I provide opportunities for them to discuss those issues.
