About me

Losses, social isolation, family tensions, work fatigue, health issues, and uncertainty have created an imbalance in our lives, consequently decreasing our overall well-being. We are all striving to grow the life we desire. I've been a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) since 2008 and was initially licensed as an LPCA in 2004. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, AD(H)D, substance use, trauma, and relationship conflicts. I genuinely enjoy empowering individuals to grow. Together, we can develop a toolbox of resources to help you become more resilient.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Whether you have previously had therapy or this is a new experience, feeling apprehensive is ok. Relationships are essential. I strive to make our appointments feel more like a conversation, and while there is a structure to the session, you have complete flexibility to guide your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have worked in trauma-informed care with nonprofits since 2004 and started private practice in 2022. In addition to working as a professional counselor, I have freelanced in art and design and worked in environmental and social advocacy. I have a wide range of interests and find it easy to connect with most individuals. I participate in my own counseling and growth work and have deep respect for anyone on this journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with a range of clients, but those I am most open to serving are individuals who are committed to regular growth work and recognize the value of therapy. You are welcome to message me before our first appointment with any questions you may have.

My treatment methods

Integrative

Integrative therapy is a holistic approach to treatment that recognizes the interconnectedness of mind and body, viewing mental health within a broader context that includes physiological, social, and emotional factors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT focuses on acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based action to develop a non-judgmental awareness of thoughts and emotions. The eventual goal is to live a meaningful life aligned with one's values, even in the presence of uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.

Existential

Existential therapy focuses on the anxiety and uncertainties that are part of life, such as death, loss, the fear of the unknown, and the meaning of life.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a counseling approach that helps people change their behavior by exploring their own reasons for wanting to change.

A breath of fresh air! Focused on me instead of just the 'issues' that are making me not able to be me right now. Pleased with the first session and already booked for the next one.
