About me

Do you have things you want to talk about but don't feel comfortable sharing with friends or family? Whether it's everyday stress, high anxiety, or life transitions, we'll work together for you to gain clarity to make meaningful change in your life. Issues are discussed with the understanding of how limitations of time, energy, and support affect our behavior. Together we'll find ways to address your needs. We'll discuss what tools may be useful and how they can be modified to be effective.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Conversation to establish an understanding of the client's background and setting mutual expectations for treatment to be successful.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strengths include reflecting back thought patterns that block people from reaching their goals, reframing outcomes to discover opportunities for growth, and highlighting people's strengths to develop a reasonable path toward desired change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults of all ages interested in problem solving on how to effectively manage life's stressors.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Initial training in DBT framework started in 2016, later working with other clinicians to facilitate a group for clients in conjunction with individual therapy. In practice, I discuss DBT tools that demonstrate how mindfulness practices can be applied to improve relationships, decrease emotional instability, and manage through highly stressful situations.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Utilize cognitive reframing in practice to consider how interpretation and judgment of experiences affects behavior choices and emotions.

Karin is extremely intelligent, almost strikingly so. I really enjoy our conversations and her valuable insight. She is a great listener but also is really good at providing suggestions and feedback. I’m super glad I found this therapist.

I love that Karin shared how things tend to go when in this type of therapy session. I realize I needed to be heard and she allowed that. I already have takeaways and that means a lot. I'm excited for the next session because I feel I need a resource to assist me through this season of life and it's been a very positive start.
