Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take the time to get to know each other. I’ll ask thoughtful questions and encourage you to do the same—this is just as much your space to explore as it is my opportunity to ensure we’re a good fit to work together. I take pride in this process and truly enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life, with different perspectives, beliefs, and experiences. This session is about building trust, understanding your goals, and giving you a sense of what therapy with me will feel like. This is your time—and it’s also my interview. So, let’s get started.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to walk alongside clients through their experiences with empathy and understanding. Together, we explore not just what is, but what could be. I offer alternative perspectives, suggestions, and possibilities that may not have been considered—especially when survival mode has made it difficult to see beyond the immediate moment. Often, when we’re simply trying to get through the day, clarity and hope can feel out of reach. My role is to help uncover those overlooked options, challenge limiting beliefs, and support you in finding new ways forward.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Life has a way of presenting challenges that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, unfocused, or disconnected from ourselves and what truly matters. As a therapist, it is my privilege to offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can feel supported, heard, and empowered. Whether you're navigating early adulthood, managing life transitions, or seeking clarity and healing at any stage of life, I am here to walk alongside you. I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. Your story matters, and your voice deserves to be honored without bias or judgment. Working with young adults (18–24) and adults (25–99), I offer encouragement, guidance, and practical tools to help you set and reach your personal goals. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together, we’ll work through the challenges you face and celebrate your growth along the way. I am here to serve. I am here for you. Let’s take the next step together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that helps clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. In my practice, I use CBT to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced, supportive perspectives. I work collaboratively with clients to build coping strategies and tools that they can apply in their everyday lives—empowering them to take an active role in their healing process. CBT is especially useful when clients are looking for practical skills to manage stress, improve self-talk, and reduce emotional distress.

Motivational Interviewing

I regularly use Motivational Interviewing (MI) in my work with clients who are navigating change, feeling stuck, or struggling with ambivalence around important decisions. Whether it's related to mental health, relationships, substance use, or personal goals, MI provides a supportive and nonjudgmental way to explore what’s holding someone back—and what might move them forward. My experience with MI has taught me that real change happens when clients feel heard, respected, and empowered—not pressured. This approach is client-centered and collaborative, meaning I don’t tell you what to do—I help you uncover your own motivations for change. I ask open-ended questions, reflect on your responses, and help you clarify your values, goals, and inner strengths. In practice, MI often looks like a conversation with intention. Together, we examine what's working, what’s not, and what might be possible. I find this method especially effective for building trust and helping clients tap into their own readiness and confidence to make meaningful life changes.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into my practice when working with clients who are looking for practical, forward-thinking strategies to address specific challenges. My experience with SFBT has shown me how powerful it can be in helping individuals identify and build on their existing strengths and resources—even during difficult times. SFBT is a goal-oriented, future-focused approach. Rather than spending extended time analyzing problems, we work together to identify what’s already working and how to do more of it. I ask targeted, strengths-based questions that help clients clarify their goals, envision their preferred future, and take small, meaningful steps toward it. In sessions, this might look like exploring past successes, highlighting moments of resilience, or identifying exceptions to a problem. Clients often leave SFBT sessions feeling empowered, encouraged, and more confident in their ability to create change. This method is especially helpful for clients who want short-term, focused support or who feel overwhelmed and need help breaking things down into manageable steps. It’s flexible, respectful, and deeply rooted in the belief that every person has the capacity for change.
