I have always been deeply interested in mental health and its influence on individuals, families, and communities. Over the years, I have collaborated with clients to improve their well-being in a variety of settings. My experience includes working in a hospital Emergency Department, a community organization, and a mental health agency. There, I served individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and those experiencing homelessness. I have also provided both individual and group therapy in clinical settings. In my counseling practice, I believe successful results come through collaboration and intentional effort. The client, as the expert in their own life, takes an active role in treatment. We work together to set goals and keep the process moving forward, sometimes by completing homework assignments between sessions. I believe in empowering clients by fostering self-awareness and resilience, ensuring that each person feels heard and supported throughout their journey. What sets my counseling style apart is my commitment to building an honest, trusting, and respectful relationship. I focus on truly listening to my clients and respecting their autonomy. For example, I once worked with a client who struggled with anxiety and self-doubt. Through a collaborative approach, we identified their strengths and developed practical coping strategies. Over time, the client gained confidence and took steps toward their desired outcomes. This experience reinforced the value of a supportive, empowering therapeutic alliance. My dedication to mental health and positive client outcomes is the foundation of my work. I strive to maintain collaboration and respect in every interaction, always aiming for the best possible results and lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we'll get to know one another and talk about your goals and discuss how we can work together to achieve them, providing a clear and supportive starting point. Throughout the process, you remain in control of your journey, making choices that align with your values and hopes. I will support you as you explore the changes that matter most to you, ensuring your preferences and autonomy guide each step we take together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with a diverse population, I’ve learned to communicate with compassion. I accept each client’s abilities and respect their autonomy within the therapeutic alliance, which supports their progress. For instance, I actively listen to my clients’ concerns and tailor my approach to honor their individual preferences. This fosters trust and encourages meaningful progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many clients seek to improve their well-being but may feel unsure about where to begin. Scheduling an appointment for therapy is an empowering first step, demonstrating your motivation and readiness for change.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) has allowed clients to acknowledge their expertise in their own lives which leads to increased self-confidence and self-efficacy. I work with clients as they focus on identifying and amplifying their strengths and resources to help them achieve their best outcomes.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Our well-being is determined by how we think. A well-balanced life is all about positive and hopeful cognition. Our thoughts tell us and others who we are because our thinking is ultimately reflected in our emotions and behavior. I work with clients to change maladaptive beliefs and negative cognition to live a more positive and hopeful lifestyle.
