My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is method I use often. I work with clients to notice patterns of thinking that may be keeping them stuck and to practice new ways of approaching situations. Sometimes that means challenging negative self-talk, other times it looks like setting small, achievable goals that create momentum and confidence

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I often introduce skills around mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and building healthier relationships. I don’t always use the full DBT program, but I bring in tools that can help clients calm their minds, manage overwhelming feelings, and feel more in control in difficult moments.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI), especially when someone is feeling unsure about making a change. Rather than pushing, I take a collaborative approach, asking open questions, reflecting what I hear, and helping clients connect with their own reasons for change. This helps build confidence and motivation in a way that feels authentic and self-driven.

Compassion Focused

In my work, I focus on creating a compassionate and supportive space where clients feel safe to grow at their own pace. I draw from several approaches depending on what someone needs in the moment. With DBT, I often share practical skills for calming the mind, managing overwhelming emotions, and improving relationships. With CBT, I help clients gently notice and shift unhelpful thought patterns so they can see themselves and their situations in a more balanced, empowering way. And with Motivational Interviewing, I honor each person’s readiness for change by exploring their values, listening deeply, and supporting them in connecting with their own strengths and motivation.
