Hello, My name is Dr. Isaiah X’avier Gonzalez, and I am honored that you have taken the time to learn more about me and my work. I am a Doctor of Social Work, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and an adjunct professor of Behavioral Health at Herzing University. My academic background includes a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Doctorate in Social Work. I specialize in trauma and Autism Spectrum Disorder, and I am experienced in addressing a range of mental health concerns, including grief, anxiety, ADHD, depression, and suicidal ideation. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices that are tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals. I have had the privilege of working extensively with: Children on the Autism Spectrum The birth-to-five population Youth in the child welfare system Children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges Giving back to the community that shaped me has always been at the heart of my work. I take pride in building authentic, trusting relationships with my clients and value open communication. I actively invite feedback to ensure our work together is effective—if something isn’t working, it’s my responsibility to adapt and find an approach that does. My mission is simple: to walk alongside my clients on their journey toward healing, resilience, and a better quality of life.
Our first session will focus on building rapport—a chance for us to get to know each other. Establishing a genuine, trusting relationship is an essential foundation for effective therapy. This time allows you to feel more comfortable, ask questions, and share at your own pace before we begin the deeper therapeutic work.
I lead with empathy, drawing on my own life experiences to better understand the challenges my clients face. This personal lens allows me to connect on a deeper, more authentic level—creating a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
I am best positioned to work with children and adolescents from birth through 18 years of age. In my experience, I have found that I am particularly effective in supporting pre-teen and teen boys who are navigating emotional and behavioral challenges. I have a natural ability to connect with them, fostering a strong and supportive therapeutic relationship that encourages growth, resilience, and goal achievement. In addition, I am well-equipped to work with youth who have experienced trauma, those on the autism spectrum, and individuals struggling with suicidal ideation or self-harming behaviors. My approach combines empathy, evidence-based strategies, and a commitment to meeting each client where they are—helping them build the skills and confidence they need to thrive.
