Hi. My name is Lucy. Does there seem to be a challenge everywhere you look? Are you struggling with stressors at work, at home, or within your extended relationships? Are you dealing with feelings of overwhelm or having intrusive, worrying thoughts? Do you find it challenging to simply be kind to yourself? Regardless of your situation, I am so glad you are taking the steps to find support, and I hope that, together, we can discover what’s not working and get you back to balance. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience working with clients in various areas. These include crisis intervention, hospitalization and grief counseling, child protective services, foster care, parent coaching, mental health support, and intensive in-home therapeutic services. I believe that all individuals have an innate desire for well-balanced emotional/mental health. I enjoy helping people from all walks of life manage relationships, explore personal challenges, and turn their inner critic into a compassionate and empowering force in their lives. Reaching out for help can be quite overwhelming and you have taken the first step by seeking a therapist. My goal is to provide a safe space for healing and growth. In our sessions, you can be assured that you will be met with compassion and evidenced-based techniques to overcome the obstacles holding you back.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into what has happened recently that brought you into the therapeutic space. I will ask questions regarding her history which will include your childhood, most impactful experiences, and the specific challenges you're facing today. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. I will provide you with opportunity to ask any questions you may have of me and together we will decide the goals of care and the desired outcome of our time together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have worked in the fields of Social Work and Mental Health for 20+ years. One of the keys to my success is my ability to communicate effectively. Communication is the key to most successful relationships, and the therapeutic alliance is no different. Through active listening, patience, and understanding, and the nurturing of our therapeutic relationship, my clients feel comfortable opening up and empowered to make positive changes.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with people from all walks of life. My clients are often eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, depressed and or/and anxious. I enjoy helping people see those patterns of behavior that are not serving them and delving into how they ended up where they are and, more importantly, how to get to where they want to be.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through the use of CBT I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and replace them with more balanced and constructive ones. I guide clients in developing healthier coping mechanism by emphasizing the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, empowering clients to make practical changes that align with their goals and improve their overall well-being.

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in treatment to help clients process and resolve distressing memories that contribute to present-day challenges. Guiding clients through bilateral stimulation, such as tapping, facilitates the brain's natural healing process, allowing traumatic memories to become less emotionally charged. EMDR helps clients reframe negative beliefs, reduce emotional distress, and achieve a sense of resolution, ultimately supporting their journey toward healing and empowerment.
