LPC, 3 years of experience
Hello, and thank you for being here. My name is Alyssa Cristadoro, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Colorado and South Carolina as well as a Registered Yoga Teacher. My experiences as a therapist encompasses different settings and populations, including supporting those in inpatient hospital settings, partial hospitalization programs, and outpatient therapy. I am passionate about facilitating a space in which all parts of you feel heard, seen, and supported. I believe the path that we walk on as human beings gets disorienting and difficult, often testing us more ways than one. My goal is to support you on this path, acting as a guide along the journey of coming home to yourself.
My clients long for a greater sense of internal freedom within mind and body. We will weave together the necessary tools to create sustainable change. You will take with you a greater sense of self-awareness, the ability to be more compassionate with yourself, and a greater sense of self-trust.
My clinical approach is rooted in the idea of curiosity around your symptoms, struggles, and pain, as opposed to pathology. I believe healing happens when we ground ourselves in the idea that there is no "bad" part within you, but rather parts that are longing for greater understanding and the chance to be heard. I am passionate about supporting you through a collaborative, compassion approach that results in living from a place of wholeness within yourself.
I specialize in working with women’s issues including PMDD and hormonal conditions, eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I use a person-centered approach, honoring each individual and the unique space they are at. Within my practice, I implement Internal Family Systems, mindfulness and somatic approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Cognitive Processing Therapy.
