Hi, I'm Ayesha, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 16 years of experience helping individuals navigate some of life's most challenging moments. I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Whether you are going through a major change, feeling stuck, or carrying the weight of past experiences, I am here to walk alongside you with patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to your growth. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in active listening. I believe that feeling truly heard is one of the most powerful parts of the healing process, and I work hard to create a space where you feel safe to be honest and open without fear of judgment. When we are working through something difficult, you can count on me to be calm, present, and fully in your corner. Sessions with me are a space for you to reflect, process, and build the tools you need to move forward. I tailor my approach to what works best for you because no two people are the same and no two journeys look alike. Outside of my work I am passionate about volunteering in the community, health and fitness which keeps me grounded and connected to the human side of this work. I look forward to supporting you!
First session
All sessions are centered around one thing YOU. It's a space designed for you to feel comfortable, open, and free to show up exactly as you are. We'll begin by diving into your story the moments and experiences that have made you who you are, the obstacles you're facing today, and the resilience you've already demonstrated. Through a gentle, conversational intake, I'll gain a deeper understanding of what's brought you here, what you've been carrying, and the kind of support that will make the most difference for you. Feeling nervous beforehand is completely natural and you're not alone in that. My approach is warm, unhurried, and judgment-free, so we can ease in at whatever pace feels right for you, always keeping your goals at the heart of our work together.
Strengths
My strength is partnering with individuals in my specialty areas to help them take control of their lives and behaviors through the use of techniques that with improve their qualities of lifelong term. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. Based on your unique needs, I may adapt my approach to include practices like mindfulness and meditation. Your goals and progress are my primary focus. Together, we’ll identify challenges and work on strategies to help you move forward.
Ideal clients
My main passion is to help everyone to become the best version of themselves. I work with clients to enable themselves to begin the challenging work of self-discovery, growth potential and change through my clinical skills in my therapeutic approach which include CBT, DBT, TFCBT. I provide individuals/adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger management, loss/grief, relationships, pregnancy/parenting, and life transitions.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have loved learning and working with CBT since graduate school. I work with my clients to learn how to identify their thinking patterns in their daily lives that has been causing painful emotions or other problems. We work together to develop new thoughts so that you learn to change how you feel and change your perspective.
Supportive
I work with my client to help relies on to decrease the symptoms associate with their diagnosis, improve self-esteem, restore relation to reality, regulate impulses and negative thinking, and reinforce the ability to cope with life stressors and challenges.
Trauma-Focused CBT
In a safe and supportive environment, we will work together to develop an understanding of trauma. Trauma can manifest in many ways from concerns for safety, respect, value, and influence. By understanding its root causes. We will bring awareness to potential triggers and how to respond to them in ways that don't retraumatize you. Thus, promoting empowerment to help you rebuild a sense of control and long-term healing.
