My clients describe me as warm, compassionate and supportive. Our first steps will be creating a space where you feel safe. The therapy process is then guided by your needs and preferences. Together we will explore the issues that have brought you to therapy. Difficulties in life are normal. You are not alone. And you will have me by your side as we figure out what feels right for you, and what are the best ways for you to achieve your goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
We will discuss what was the impetus that brought you to therapy. We will address any pressing issues that you may want support for right away. We will create a genogram which is a family tree, in our first few sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am direct and empathic. I believe that each individual knows deep down what is best for themselves and I help you learn to listen to yourself, help you figure out what you want/need. I create a genogram with each client which is a family tree. This helps us see patterns and relationship dynamics from the past, which may be repeating in the present. I work best with clients who truly want to make changes and are ready to do the work. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your journey.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Couples and individuals who would like to communicate better, understand themselves better, change unhealthy patterns and learn coping skills for difficulties in life. I work with clients who are 21 and older. I specialize in anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relational issues, improved communication with couples, navigating separation/divorce, recovering from narcissistic parents or partners.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We all have thoughts running through our heads at any given moment. Sometimes these thoughts are helpful, but often they are harmful. CBT helps the client learn to pay attention to their thoughts, challenge them and replace them with positive thoughts. Our thoughts create our feelings which influence our actions.
Couples Counseling
A genogram is an important part of couples counseling. This is a family tree that we create together. It helps everyone in the room understand where each partner is coming from. Additionally, the relationship with your parents and how your parents interacted with each other, impacts your present day relationship. With this knowledge we can then help you gain greater communication skills, more empathy for each other, and learn how to meet each other's needs as well as identify what your own needs are.
Psychodynamic
Once again I like to use the genogram to identify patterns in your past that may be affecting the present. History often repeats itself and by illuminating the past I can help support you in making different choices in your life that may be healthier for you. When we find that we are having reactions to things in the present that seem uncontrollable or bigger than what is warranted for the incident, it is often a past trauma or incident showing up unconsciously.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use this approach to help my clients figure out what is best for them in their life. I don't have the answers, the client does. Sometimes it takes another person to help you see what is important to you, what you may be doing to sabotage your true wants, what steps can help you get to where you want to be. Carl Rogers believed that every person is doing the best they can in any given moment and that support and encouragement are the best way to elicit change.
