New to Grow
Grief, loss, and/or major life transitions are often moments when extra help is needed. I draw on 12 years of clinical experience, as well as life experience and diverse sources of wisdom, to help you shift perspective and regain your spark. The ability to heal is naturally present within you, and my job is to remove barriers by providing compassion, information, and humor.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I will get to know a bit about your background and current needs. We will start to build a rapport and understanding of what you would like to work on in therapy. Towards the end we will discuss scheduling, confidentiality, etc.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I'm a clinical social worker with a background in community mental health and family therapy. Individual outpatient therapy is now my focus. I work primarily with adults, but will consider teens who are self-motivated to seek therapy. Trauma informed therapy (aiming to be supportive and thoughtful, not triggering), systems theory (person within a social environment rather than regarding mental health as solely individual), and narrative therapy (identifying the "story" one uses to make sense of one's self and/or the problem, and helping you adjust it as necessary) are some of my main modalities.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
You have a good capacity for understanding, but because of where you're at emotionally right now, you need some support to see how to overcome the challenges you're facing. Or perhaps you simply need an empathic provider who can listen without overwhelming you with suggestions or fixes. Either way, I can provide support tailored to your needs and your pace.
