New to Grow
Welcome! I’m a licensed mental health clinician with nearly 10 years of experience. I have worked with a wide variety of populations and diagnosis. My therapy approach is collaborative, supportive, and direct, focusing on helping you reconnect with your truth, joy, and life fulfillment. As a Latina, queer woman, I deeply value diverse perspectives and strive to create an inclusive, respectful space for all aspects of your identity. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and help you work towards your goals.
Your first session with me will be an introductory session. You will have a chance to share your story, your goals, what brought you here today, and any questions you may have. My past clients have described me as warm, supportive, relatable, and understanding. I know that it takes a lot to share and be vulnerable, the goal is for you to feel safe and supported as we move forward in our work together.
My approach to therapy is integrative, which means treatment focuses on you as a whole person rather than just your symptoms. I will work with you to identify your unique needs and goals, drawing from different therapeutic techniques to find what works best for your situation. This approach can help you develop coping skills, gain insight into underlying challenges, and build lasting positive changes in your life. I am direct, kind, and curious. The way I see this work is fully collaborative, you are the expert on yourself and your experiences, and together we will find our way through to your goals.
My ideal client is anybody who is ready and willing to take a deep dive into understanding themselves and is motivated to show up and work together. Therapy is an ongoing, collaborative process, and we will work hand in hand to reflect and explore difficult topics/questions. One of the main contributors to the efficacy of therapy is a strong relationship between the therapist and client, this includes being able to be open when something is not working, and trust that we will work together to find what will work.

I had my first session with Martie, and honestly, I adore her already. I have been in several therapists' "chairs" over the last decade with my bipolar disorder diagnosis, and I instantly felt a connection with her (which I do not find often). She is intelligent, funny, and understanding. Just in the first session, I walked away with information to research. She gave me additional tools to start to work on that I can add to my tool belt.
