New to Grow
Yes, life can be difficult, and you're here looking for help. For 35 years I've helped people like you look at their lives. I've helped them find ways to directly look at the pain, fear, anger, shame, depression, trauma, and other things that feel overwhelming. More importantly, I've helped people move beyond today's focus on pain and struggle to discover new ways to manage their lives, to suffer less, to feel more space, trust, and aliveness.
It should be simple to set a first appointment in my online schedule. After that you'll fill out some paperwork, both information about yourself and insurance information for the Grow Therapy platform who will take care of all payment questions. Our first session will be orientation, evaluation, and the beginning stages of therapy. We'll start by understanding your current "situation" and what brings you to therapy. I'll begin to learn who you are, establish how we create a safe space to look at your life, and begin to address your concerns. Before the end of our first session I would want to have at least a beginning understanding of what your goals for therapy are, and have taken first steps to move towards some relief and healing.
We all want to find the root of our suffering, and discover the path to a better life. The internet is full of people offering quick fixes and telling you what you need to be happy. But the answers aren't something outside of you. While I have years of experience to share, I know that the real answers lie inside you. Our explorations together, building on your awareness and expert knowledge of your own life, are what will lead us to your own version of a better life.
I'm here to help you build awareness about how your thoughts, feelings, and body create your world. As we explore this, I may have skills, resources, or wisdom that I've gained working with people for over 30 years which I'll generously share. But, ultimately, change and growth happen when you actively and honestly engage in the process of looking at yourself and your life.

Strength-Based
I believe in finding what works with each individual client, utilizing cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness based, psychodynamic, humanistic, or somatic techniques as they fit and help us move towards therapy goals.
Humanistic
We'll work mostly with what is happening in your life now, becoming more aware of thoughts and feelings, and paying attention to what is important to you in your life.
Mind-body approach
In addition to looking at thoughts and feelings we'll understand the connection all of these have to your physical body. We'll look at how your "relationship" to your body can support greater mental health.
Somatic
Our bodies hold memory and automatic responses we learned through past experience. By recognizing our body sensations and responses we can begin to shift these things at a level outside of conscious awareness
Trauma Informed Care
Experiencing trauma can make the world feel unsafe. In order to begin healing trauma we need to establish a strong relationship that allows for safe exploration of intense experiences.
