About me

Thank you for considering me as your therapist. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience in hospitals, college counseling centers, adoption agencies, and elder care homes. For the past 4 years, I’ve been additionally working in private practice, where I support adults in navigating life’s challenges. My style is warm, discerning, and personable. I listen not only to your words but also to the underlying feelings and patterns, bringing attention to what might be overlooked so we can explore it together. My goal is to understand your lived experience and help you discover new perspectives, tools, and possibilities for change. Please note: -While I have extensive experience supporting adults with ADD/ADHD, I do not provide formal diagnoses or prescribe medication. -I do not provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters, as this is outside my clinical scope of practice.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will explore what brings you to therapy and we will work to clarify your goals. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history and current challenges, and I’ll offer initial reflections or suggestions you can consider between sessions. The pace and depth are always guided by what feels comfortable for you. I want to make it clear that this is your space and time and you have a say in the process. I aim to have our sessions feel comfortable for you and I consider it to be your space and your time. If you need to take a break and step away or eat a snack during our meeting, that works. If you want to bring up topics or have me prompt you instead, I am happy to go with what is most helpful. I encourage you to be as physically comfortable as possible - that can include laying in bed or wearing pajamas. Texas regulations require that you be in Texas at the time of our visit and I want to ensure your physical safety while we are talking but beyond that, make the environment your own!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Compassion, non-judgment, and curiosity. I am a caring and open-minded counselor who wants to know the real, authentic you. That way, we can better identify what is and isn't working in your life while pursuing productive change. I am open to your feedback and I am focused on making our sessions work in a way that is best for what you need.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment therapy can be a useful modality for moving toward mindfulness and re-centering personal values in decisions.

Attachment-based

Attachment styles and the framework around them can be very useful in understanding and navigating interpersonal relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT can be effective to access the logical, rational part of our brain and it can help us reframe a subjective narrative to more fully reflect the situation at hand.

Compassion Focused

I engage with clients with compassion first regardless of whichever modality we decide to use.

Eclectic

I tend to draw from a variety of frameworks, including ACT, EFT, CBT, SFT, DBT, narrative therapy, and others. Not all aspects of each work for everyone so sometimes, there is a need to try different techniques and see what works best.

My first intake session I learned a lot. We talked about my past and experiences that led up to what I was feeling today. I loved how she backed up what was said through science and certain experiences other people have felt in scientific experiences. She talked about the stages of change and it really helped me out!
