I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in South Carolina specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, shame, and relationship challenges. I also provide Christian counseling, and for many clients, faith is an important part of healing. I offer a grounded and respectful space where spiritual beliefs can be integrated into therapy in a way that supports emotional clarity, growth, and peace. A significant part of my work focuses on helping men who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally disconnected, often struggling with shame, anger, anxiety, or difficulty expressing emotions. Many of my male clients feel pressure to stay strong while silently carrying emotional weight from past experiences. My approach is structured and practical, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and supportive counseling techniques to help clients understand patterns, regulate emotions, and build healthier ways of thinking and responding. Many of the challenges I work with are connected to childhood or relational trauma, which can continue to affect confidence, relationships, and emotional well-being. My goal is to help clients reduce emotional distress, strengthen confidence, improve relationships, and move toward a more grounded and meaningful life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first few sessions, we will focus on getting to know one another in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where trust and comfort can begin to grow. I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and safe sharing your experiences. Our early sessions will include discussing intake questions and using assessment tools to help me better understand your personal history, emotional concerns, spiritual beliefs, relationships, and the challenges that brought you to counseling. Together, we will identify the areas you would like to improve and begin establishing meaningful goals for therapy. From there, we will create a personalized treatment plan designed to help you make steady progress toward emotional healing, personal growth, and greater peace of mind. Because I value the importance of faith and spirituality in the healing process, sessions may include Christian-based mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and prayer for clients who are comfortable incorporating faith into therapy. I integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you better understand and process your emotions, develop healthier coping skills, and challenge unhealthy thought patterns that may be holding you back. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe growth happens both during and between sessions. You may receive practical exercises, reflection activities, or coping strategies to work on throughout the week, which we will review together in future sessions. As your needs and goals evolve, we will continue to evaluate and adjust your treatment plan to ensure that therapy remains effective and supportive. My hope is that through our work together, you will feel empowered to make positive life changes, strengthen your confidence, deepen your sense of hope, and move toward the fulfilling life you desire.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are that I bring empathy, compassion, authenticity, and a deep commitment to helping clients create meaningful change. My life experiences have given me a genuine understanding of how emotional pain, childhood wounds, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and unhealthy patterns can affect every area of life. Because of this, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected. I believe that healing begins when people feel accepted and empowered to openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My role is to walk alongside clients with encouragement, insight, and practical guidance while helping them build the skills needed to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. What sets my approach apart is the combination of compassion, accountability, and practical tools for lasting growth. I don't believe therapy should simply focus on managing symptoms; I help clients identify the deeper patterns that may be contributing to emotional distress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, or feeling stuck in life. I have a special passion for working with men who may struggle with the lasting effects of childhood trauma, difficult family dynamics, emotional disconnection, or challenges in relationships. I also enjoy helping faith-based clients integrate their Christian beliefs into the counseling process in a way that supports healing, personal growth, and emotional wellness. Drawing from evidence-based therapeutic approaches, I work collaboratively with clients to develop healthier ways of thinking, coping, communicating, and relating to others. Having personally experienced the power of growth and transformation, I firmly believe that change is possible. My goal is to help clients move beyond merely surviving and toward thriving—developing greater emotional wellness, healthier relationships, stronger self-awareness, and a renewed sense of purpose, hope, and fulfillment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with the lasting effects of early childhood trauma and complex life experiences. Many of my clients feel stuck in painful emotional and behavioral patterns that once helped them survive, but now interfere with relationships, confidence, purpose, and peace of mind. I have a particular passion for supporting men who may find it difficult to express emotions, process past experiences, or ask for help. If you often find yourself replaying painful memories, battling anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, or fear about the future, you are not alone. You may notice repetitive coping behaviors, difficulty trusting yourself or others, or a constant sense of emotional exhaustion. Together, we work to better understand these patterns and develop healthier, more effective ways of responding to life’s challenges. My approach is grounded in curiosity, self-awareness, and practical skill-building. I believe healing begins by recognizing your natural strengths and learning how your thoughts, emotions, and experiences shape the way you move through the world. I am committed to continually learning and integrating evidence-based approaches that help clients create meaningful and lasting change. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can gain insight, develop emotional resilience, and move toward a life that feels more fulfilling, balanced, and authentic.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help clients better understand how unhealthy behavioral patterns and coping behaviors often developed as survival responses to childhood trauma and painful life experiences. My approach encourages curiosity and self-awareness, helping clients recognize that many of these patterns once served a protective purpose, even if they are no longer helpful today. Through TF-CBT, clients learn healthier ways to manage emotional triggers, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop more effective problem-solving skills. Together, we explore how past traumatic experiences may continue to influence present-day emotions, relationships, and behaviors. The goal is to help clients replace long-standing dysfunctional coping patterns with healthier, more adaptive responses that support emotional growth, resilience, and improved daily functioning. I strive to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can safely process past experiences while building practical tools for lasting change. While I can help clients address trauma-related behavioral patterns, individuals struggling with active substance abuse or alcoholism may be better served by a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) or a therapist who specializes in addiction treatment.

Christian Counseling

I provide Christian counseling for individuals who desire to integrate their faith and Biblical principles into the healing process. I believe that emotional wounds can deeply affect the mind, heart, body, and spirit, often creating unhealthy beliefs, destructive coping patterns, and difficulties in relationships. My approach combines Christian principles with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help clients better understand how past wounds continue to influence present-day thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. I especially work with individuals struggling with low self-worth, loneliness, shame, pornography use, compulsive sexual behaviors, and difficulty building healthy, meaningful relationships. Together, we work toward strengthening self-worth, emotional balance, healthier coping skills, and a stronger relationship with God. I also help men develop healthier masculine identity, emotional grounding, and supportive relationships with other Godly men who can encourage accountability, affirmation, and personal growth. I believe spiritual beliefs can be a powerful source of healing, resilience, and emotional stability. Biblical principles provide a moral and spiritual foundation that can guide individuals through life’s challenges while supporting emotional and relational growth. "Individuals who personalize their religion, cultivate faith in God, & internalize spiritual values: 1) have better coping skills; 2) have less depression admidst life's challenges". - 'A multimeasure, genetic-epidemiologic study' Trappler & Endicott, American Journal of Psychiatry, 1997, Nov. 154, p. 1636. The National Institute for Health Care research reviewed 200 studies on spirituality & health - "They found that positive effects of religion outweigh negative effects 10 to 1. There were no negative effects for true religion of Jesus Christ, but many practice false religion. Still in the midst of all the deception, the positive is out weighing the negative." In the studies: "Having a deeply personal religion is: 1) Strongly associated with life satisfaction. 2) Religious activity improves quality of life for all elders" - Reyes-Ortiz et. al., Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, 1996, Sept., p. 49 "More prayer, less risk of addiction; Less prayer, more risk of addiction" - 'Religious practices & alcoholism in a southern adult population. Koenig. et al. Hospital Community Psychiatry, 1996, March p. 225-331 "Spiritual well-being is at the center of a healthy lifestyle." - 'Spiritual Care for the Critically Ill', Clark & Henderreich, American Journal of Critical Care, 1995, Jan. 4, p. 77-81.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use mindfulness-based therapy interventions to help clients develop greater awareness of their moment-to-moment thoughts, emotions, and body sensations. Mindfulness can help individuals become less reactive to stress, anxiety, painful memories, and negative thought patterns while learning healthier ways to respond to life’s challenges. My approach encourages curiosity, self-awareness, and emotional balance. I help clients recognize their own natural strengths and abilities while learning practical tools to better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and physical responses influence their daily experiences. Through mindfulness-based techniques, clients can develop healthier coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build a stronger sense of connection to themselves and the world around them. I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients can slow down, become more present, and develop greater clarity, resilience, and confidence in navigating life’s difficulties.
