Maxine L. Kibble LMFT, MA, PsyD Candidate I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California, Connecticut, and Utah. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education and Dance Therapy from New York University. I have two master's degrees: one in marriage and family counseling from the University of Phoenix and a second master's in clinical psychology from Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology. I am enrolled in the PsyD doctoral program at California Southern University and am scheduled to graduate in 05/2025. I have 23 years of experience as an educator, counselor, career counselor, and researcher in psychology. As a licensed MFT therapist, my expertise is in the areas of substance abuse, prison populations, AB109s (felons)/290s (sex offenders), anger management, domestic violence, career counseling, and parenting supervision. In addition to individual, couples, and family counseling, I have experience with specific populations, such as transgender and LGBTQ, with a particular cultural emphasis on identity formation. I have worked closely with psychiatrists regarding members who require medication management and assessments, diagnosing and creating for those individuals, couples, and family's treatment plans counseling services. My clientele ranges from 6 to 75 years of age, and my therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Narrative therapy, and Supportive therapy. My foundation and belief system are based on being culturally sensitive when working with all clients to understand how they see their presenting problem within the context of their culture.
It is essential to meet the client where they are emotionally, mentally, and psychologically. The therapeutic relationship is the foundation for trust that allows for mental and emotional growth.
My role as your therapist is to create a safe and supportive environment during our sessions to foster trust and facilitate change. Our therapeutic relationship will be built on collaboration, positive regard, honesty, and an understanding of the issues you are presenting within your specific cultural context. I approach my work through an intersectionality lens, recognizing that clients often face multiple layers of challenges rather than a single concern. By addressing various issues simultaneously and using psychoeducation to teach valuable insights, I aim to empower my clients and reduce the length of counseling needed. This approach enables them to take charge of their lives effectively.
Only individuals aged twenty years and older are eligible. I no longer provide telehealth services for children or family counseling, and do not see couples.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The client will complete assignments and journal their thoughts and feelings to share in the next session. This will help gain insight into how their reactive behavior patterns may be limiting their ability to form relationships and seize career opportunities.
Narrative
Narrative therapy gives clients hope that they can alter their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, leading to positive changes in their lives.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
It is a collaborative process in which the client and therapist work together to find solutions to current problems and provide resources for the client.

There are no words that can describe Maxine other than amazing. I have searched for someone like her for a while and I have looked forward to every week with her ever since we met. She is so grounded and confident that her perspective gave me the map to what life should be like. We have different life experiences, yet she always found a way to relate and get me to see the bigger picture and see the things I needed to embrace in myself. I will always value my time spent talking with her.
