I am a doctoral-level licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience supporting women through life's harder moments. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, identity, and the weight of expectations that rarely let up. My approach is direct, grounded, and free of judgment. I believe good therapy meets you where you are. I practice in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Delaware via telehealth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session, you can expect a calm, unhurried conversation. There are no wrong answers and no pressure to share more than you are ready to share. I will ask about what brought you in and what you are hoping to get from therapy. By the end, you will have a clearer sense of whether we are a good fit.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I specialize in helping women, college students, and clients from diverse backgrounds who have been misdiagnosed or dismissed by previous therapists. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches that fit your actual life. My teaching background means I explain things clearly and without jargon. I am direct about what is working and what is not. I treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. I show up on time, remember what you tell me, and take your goals seriously.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are a woman who keeps everything running and rarely lets anyone see the cost of that, you might be exactly who I work with. My clients show up for work, for their families, for their communities. They meet deadlines. They return calls. And they are tired in a way that a vacation does not fix. Many of them have been carrying something heavy for a long time, sometimes a history of trauma they have never fully addressed, sometimes a low hum of anxiety or depression that has just become background noise. Some have been in therapy before and left feeling unseen. Others are coming for the first time and are not sure what to expect. What they share is a real readiness, not just to talk, but to understand what is actually driving their patterns. That kind of honesty takes courage. I do not take it lightly. I work well with women who want answers. They want to know why they feel the way they feel. Assessment is not a barrier for them. It is a starting point, and I treat it that way. Some of my clients are also navigating chronic stress tied to race, identity, and caregiving. I do not treat that as background noise. It is central to the work. But not every woman needs to name those dynamics to benefit from what I offer. Some simply know their body has been sending signals and they are finally ready to pay attention. That is enough to begin. My clients are professionals, academics, caregivers, and women in the middle of major life transitions. They are not looking for someone to fix them. They want a clinician who takes them seriously. I do.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as an evidence-based, trauma-informed approach that helps clients increase psychological flexibility and develop healthier relationships with their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. In my practice, I integrate ACT with culturally responsive, strengths-based, and person-centered approaches to support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, stress, relationship concerns, and identity-related challenges.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based and goal-oriented treatment approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, CBT is commonly used to support individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment difficulties, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, and challenges related to emotional regulation and coping.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I utilize Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) as an evidence-based treatment approach primarily designed to support individuals who have experienced trauma and trauma-related symptoms, including PTSD, anxiety, shame, guilt, and negative self-beliefs. In my practice, I use CPT to help clients process traumatic experiences, identify how trauma has impacted their thoughts and beliefs, and develop healthier, more balanced perspectives about themselves, others, and the world.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I provide culturally sensitive and culturally responsive therapy that recognizes the importance of each client’s cultural identity, lived experiences, values, beliefs, and social context in the healing process. In my practice, I strive to create an inclusive, affirming, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel seen, heard, respected, and empowered.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) as a collaborative, client-centered, and evidence-based approach that helps individuals explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation, and build confidence toward meaningful change. In my practice, MI is especially helpful for clients who may feel uncertain, stuck, overwhelmed, or conflicted about making behavioral, emotional, or lifestyle changes.
