New to Grow
Hello! I have been a licensed professional counselor for over 15 years and I specialize in assisting those who have experienced or are currently experiencing toxic or abusive relationships. I also work with teens and adults who are experiencing difficult issues including life transitions, anxiety, trauma and grief, in addition to those seeking to better manage their anger and related impulses. I offer a unique and collaborative approach for each client. I can assist you with putting a plan in place to help you move forward, and we will celebrate your successes along the way. I use a person-centered approach, incorporating cognitive and dialectical behavioral techniques.
During our initial session, I begin by developing rapport and trust, as these are essential for effective therapy. I will also gather historical data to understand where you are now and the challenges you are facing. Together, we will identify specific goals for therapy. Therapy is very much a collaborative process and I offer unconditional support for the challenges you are facing.
I believe everyone wants to be heard and validated. I offer an empathetic and objective approach, along with a judgement free zone to express your most difficult emotions and concerns.
My ideal clients are those struggling with difficult life transitions, anxiety and grief. Additional specialties include anger management and PTSD. I enjoy being the copilot and working collaboratively with clients, as I believe they are the experts on how they feel. We will determine your treatment plan and goals together and with ongoing assessment. I enjoy working with individuals age 12 and up in a virtual setting.

I utilize a humanistic approach in treatment, focusing on empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard to facilitate trust and growth
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I employ techniques from CBT which are goal-oriented. This approach helps clients break down overwhelming problems into smaller, more manageable parts; it also assists with learning to identify "cognitive distortions" (faulty thinking) that cause distress and replacing them with more realistic, positive thoughts.
