New to Grow
You’re the one everyone depends on — the one who keeps showing up, pushing through, and holding everything together for everyone else. But underneath it all, you may be feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, anxious, or disconnected from yourself. Maybe you spend so much time caring for others that your own needs have been pushed to the side. If that sounds familiar, you are not alone, and you do not have to carry it all by yourself anymore. Welcome, I’m Sharmane Jackson, a therapist based in Pennsylvania, and I’m truly glad you’re here. I provide a warm, supportive space where you can show up exactly as you are without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. Therapy with me is about helping you feel heard, supported, and empowered while working toward meaningful change. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, relationship stress, emotional overwhelm, and the emotional weight of constantly pouring into others while neglecting themselves. My approach is compassionate, human-centered, and culturally responsive, blending emotional support with practical tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally balanced in your daily life. Together, we may explore patterns that leave you feeling stuck, strengthen coping skills and boundaries, process difficult emotions, and create more space for your own needs without guilt. I believe healing happens in spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and fully themselves. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healthier relationships, or simply a place where you no longer have to carry everything alone, therapy can be the beginning of feeling like yourself again. Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but you’ve already started by being here. I would be honored to support you in your healing and growth.
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re used to holding everything together on your own. During our first session, my goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely heard from the very beginning. We’ll spend time getting to know one another and exploring what brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and the experiences that may have shaped how you move through life today. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your needs while also giving you space to share at your own pace — there is no pressure to have everything figured out right away. Our first session is also an opportunity for us to determine whether we feel like a good fit, as a strong therapeutic connection is an important part of meaningful healing and growth. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals, discussing what healing and progress may look like for you, and creating a plan to support you step by step. You do not need to come into therapy with the perfect words or all the answers. You just have to show up as you are — and we’ll take it one step at a time together.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to build genuine connection and create a space where clients feel safe enough to let their guard down, speak openly, and simply be themselves. Many of the people I work with are used to carrying so much for others that they rarely have space to focus on their own emotional needs. I believe therapy should be a place where you no longer have to hold everything together alone. My approach is warm, compassionate, human-centered, and clinically grounded. I value meeting clients where they are and offering support in a way that feels collaborative, encouraging, and authentic — while also helping them develop practical tools, healthier boundaries, greater self-awareness, and more confidence in navigating life’s challenges. I strive to create an environment where clients feel both emotionally supported and empowered to grow at a pace that feels realistic and sustainable. For clients who desire it, I can thoughtfully incorporate faith into the therapeutic process as a source of strength, healing, and meaning. My work is informed by evidence-based and strengths-focused approaches that help clients move beyond survival mode, reconnect with themselves, and create healthier, more balanced lives with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being.
If you are experiencing anxiety, navigating career changes or life transitions, or exploring questions related to meaning, purpose, or faith, therapy can provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space for growth, healing, and clarity. Through a collaborative and flexible process tailored to your unique needs, strengths, and goals, we can work together at a pace that feels right for you to better understand your challenges, build on your strengths, and create practical steps toward achieving your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we examine unhelpful thinking patterns and challenge them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. I guide clients in developing practical coping strategies and behavioral techniques to manage distress and improve daily functioning. Through goal-oriented sessions, I support clients in building long-term skills for resilience and emotional well-being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. I support clients in balancing acceptance and change, validating their experiences while working toward healthier behaviors. Through structured skills training and real-life application, clients learn to manage intense emotions and navigate relationships more effectively. My approach emphasizes practical tools, consistency, and collaboration to promote stability and long-term growth.
Christian Counseling
I integrate Christian counseling by incorporating faith-based principles alongside evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support clients’ emotional and spiritual well-being. Drawing on teachings from The Bible, I help clients explore how their beliefs, values, and relationship with God can provide guidance, strength, and meaning. I support clients in addressing challenges through prayer, reflection, and faith-informed coping strategies when aligned with their preferences. My approach is respectful, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s level of spiritual integration in the therapeutic process.
