I enjoy what I do as a therapist. However, I must warn you - therapy is not an easy process. If it is easy, we are not growing. I am told by clients that working with me is challenging. This makes me smile, because I desire clients to "rise" to the challenges. Rise. One of my favorite words. For some that would be "leveling up." I've faced many harsh setbacks and taken accountability to rise to those challenges. With severe asthma. Being neurodivergent. I won't list them all, but I can say with minimal support, I pushed through or made brave choices. So I can say - I achieved. Do you seek to work through a harsh setback? Are you sensing the need to make a brave choice? My practice is geared towards helping professional men learn better strategies to handle anger and have more satisfying relationships. I desire clients who are self-referred, and not court mandated. My professional limitations are that I am not engaging those who are court mandated for anger management, or involved in domestic violence. My clinical experience over the past 15+ years includes hospitals, universities, corrections, IOP programs, substance use treatment, and private practice. I achieved three Masters Degrees: Teaching, Public Health, Social Work. I've also worked as a diagnostic ultrasound tech. Presently, I work in private practice - telehealth. First sessions are not meant to be definitive. Our first session is meant for us both to determine whether we have rapport and understanding for the deeper work ahead. We all desire to be understood and validated, to be seen and heard. The first session is the opportunity to hear your story, collect additional information, and to conceptualize treatment goals. I look for your openness and willingness to commit to your growth.
I offer an eclectic mix of strategies to help my clients grow. Given my history of being a dancer and athlete, I prefer methods that are heart centered and somatic versus thought oriented and cognitive. Physiology matters greatly. Our bodies talk to us all the time. I make sure client learn to listen and distinguish those cues. The feedback I receive identifies authenticity, frankness, and interactivity as my strengths. Studies have shown that the working relationship is a main factor for client's success. So if something is not working, or we are misunderstanding - it means our session touched an important nerve. How we work through situations in session reflects how you work through similar situations in everyday life. Therapy works on your goals and offers practice space for new skills.
My practice is geared for professional men who seek to regulate anger in their workplace, in their relationships, and with themselves. I utilize a variety of methods and techniques suited for the individual client, based on their lived experience, capacity to engage in therapy, and level of commitment the overall process and their specific goals. Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness slows down your automatic physical responses to specific stressful circumstances or problem. This is how you dial up awareness for possible solutions. Mindfulness is very much a necessary, gateway skill to achieve a goal.
EMDR
Bilateral stimulation with use of tappers, for example, can also help you slow down and reflect. EMDR repetitively targets specific experiences for fuller understanding, desensitization to distress, and gaining objectivity (and more). It is both process and goal oriented.
Eclectic
While CBT focuses on your thoughts and Somatic based methods focus on your senses, an Eclectic approach offers flexibility to our work together. One method does not fit everyone's needs. Eclectic is a term to let you know I have experience and training in many methods to help you achieve your goal.
Hypnotherapy
I offer Clinical Hypnotherapy - process and solution oriented. It may not be covered by insurance.

Angelique is able to dig into enough without going overboard, and seems to be very good at giving proper suggestions, not advice rather things that may help. My first session was excellent I’m looking forward to seeing how we can improve my outlook on different areas.
