Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through life’s challenges alone. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I work with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions. Sometimes life can feel heavy, confusing, or isolating. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop healthier coping strategies, and build the tools you need to move forward with greater confidence and balance. I am licensed in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas with over 15 years of professional work experience. Seeking support is a courageous step. Whether you’re navigating a difficult time or simply looking to better understand yourself, I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth.
The first therapy session often feels like stepping into unfamiliar territory—part curiosity, part hesitation. We will usually begin by setting the tone, understanding confidentiality, how sessions work, completing assessment, discussing goals, and understanding what you can expect moving forward. Remember, this is a calm, inviting, and non-judgmental space where you are free to bring your concerns and truth. At first, your answers might feel surface-level or slightly rehearsed. That’s normal. Trust doesn’t appear instantly; it builds in small increments. You might find yourself testing the waters—sharing something minor and watching how it’s received. I will ask follow-up questions tin order to foster deeper thought. We will develop a space where important thought is forming - where you may decide whether to say the harder thing.
Being an effective and unique therapist isn’t just about training or techniques—it’s the way I show up in the room. I work to create a space where people feel genuinely seen, not analyzed from a distance but understood in a way that feels human and real. There’s an authenticity; not hiding behind a script or a rigid role. I work to be present, engaged, and intentional. It is important to balance empathy with clarity. I don’t just validate feelings— I seek to help you make sense of them. When you share something heavy or confusing with me, we can sit with it without rushing to fix it. Then, we began to challenge patterns that are keeping you "stuck." What sets me apart is my attunement. I am able to reflect moments back to clients in a way that feels insightful rather than intrusive. I want to help you "connect the dots" and find hope and peace. My approach is flexible rather than "one-size-fits-all." I will meet you where you are.
Defining the ideal client is not about exclusion, but about joining an individual on a journey. I appreciate clients who make the most of therapy and consistently engage. It is important for a client to have an idea of what goals they have for therapy; however, if there is confusion regarding goals it is important to be open to suggestion.

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a treatment modality to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Through this process, clients can identify and challenge unhelpful thought and behavioral patterns and develop healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking, coping, and responding to life’s challenges.
I utilize Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help clients shift from patterns of self-criticism and shame toward greater self-understanding, self-compassion, and emotional safety. This approach supports clients in developing a kinder and more balanced relationship with themselves while building resilience and healthier ways of responding to difficult emotions and experiences.
When desired by the client, I integrate Christian Counseling as a means of exploring how faith, personal values, and spiritual beliefs can support the identification and transformation of unhealthy thought, emotional, and behavioral patterns. This approach allows clients to incorporate their faith into the therapeutic process in a way that supports healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being.
I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients better understand and strengthen emotional bonds within their relationships. This approach supports clients in safely accessing, understanding, and expressing deeper emotions while identifying and shifting patterns that may contribute to disconnection or relational distress.
I utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients identify, understand, and relate to their inner “parts” with curiosity and compassion rather than attempting to judge, suppress, or “fix” them. This approach encourages greater self-understanding, emotional healing, and a more compassionate relationship with oneself.

Alicia brings genuine care and sharp instincts to every session. She listens the way a good therapist should: fully, reflectively, and without an agenda of her own. Her questions land with almost Socratic precision, gently steering you toward insight instead of handing you a verdict. Thoughtful, attentive, and quietly skilled; the kind of therapist you're glad you found.

Alicia is a wonderful therapist to talk with. She's professional and understanding, warm and intelligent, open-minded as well as authentic. She's sad when you're sad and joyful right along with you. It helps a lot to have a therapist who can be authentic with you.
