About me

Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona and Wisconsin, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I live in Wisconsin, my home state, and truly enjoy helping individuals across each of the states where I practice and value the opportunity to support clients from diverse backgrounds and communities. With over 14 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges and rediscover their strengths. My approach is warm, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based therapies—because I believe that healing happens best in a supportive, trusting environment where you feel truly heard and understood. I integrate proven approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based techniques, and Solution-Focused strategies to help you make meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief and loss or simply feeling “stuck,” my goal is to help you move toward greater clarity, balance, and resilience. Together, we’ll build on your unique strengths and create a path forward that feels authentic and empowering. I’m honored to support you on your journey toward well-being—wherever you are, and wherever you’re headed.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel exciting, uncomfortable, or even a little intimidating—especially if you’re not sure what to expect. My goal is to make your first session feel comfortable, welcoming, and free of pressure. Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different through our work together. I’ll also learn about your history, strengths, relationships, and the experiences that have shaped where you are today. You don’t need to have the “right” words or know exactly where to begin. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable. I’ll listen without judgment and help us identify where to focus first. We’ll also talk about how I work and determine whether my approach feels like a good fit for you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your voice matters. You should feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and letting me know what you need. Most importantly, you don’t have to attend your first session with everything figured out. You simply need to show up as you are. We’ll take it one step at a time, together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of the things I value most about being a therapist is getting to know the person behind the struggles—their story, strengths, hopes, and the experiences that have shaped who they are. I bring a warm, compassionate presence to therapy and genuinely enjoy creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and accepted for who you are. I believe in listening deeply—not just to what you say, but to what may be underneath it. I’m naturally curious, and I often use thoughtful questions to help you slow down, look at things from a different perspective, and discover insights that may already be within you. Sometimes, the right question at the right time can help something finally click. There are also times when having a little more direction can be helpful. When you’re looking for it, I can offer a guided path to walk through together—using reflection questions, exercises, practical tools, or intentional areas of focus. These experiences can gently help you look deeper, understand yourself more fully, and uncover what may be getting in the way of the life you want. I also believe that some of the most meaningful growth happens between sessions. When it feels helpful, I may give you something to reflect on, practice, or explore during the week. My hope is that our work doesn’t simply stay within the therapy hour, but becomes something you can carry with you into everyday life. My greatest joy as a therapist is seeing those moments when you begin to understand yourself in a new way—when your own insight emerges, something makes sense, and you realize you have more choices and possibilities than you once believed. You don’t have to have all the answers before you begin. We’ll discover them together, at a pace that feels right for you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is someone navigating a season of life that feels overwhelming, uncertain, or different than expected. After years of focusing on work, family, relationships, or caring for others, you may be asking yourself, “What do I want for me?” You may appear to have everything together while privately struggling with anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, burnout, or emotional exhaustion. Perhaps you have difficulty setting boundaries without guilt, tend to put others’ needs before your own, or find yourself constantly questioning whether you’re making the “right” decision. You may be experiencing a significant life transition—a change in relationships, career, family roles, identity, or direction—or simply recognize that the way you’ve been coping no longer feels sustainable. Together, we can explore your story, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and reconnect with your strengths. When helpful, I’ll provide practical tools, guided exercises, and intentional work between sessions to help you turn insight into meaningful change. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself, therapy can be a place to begin.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT in my practice for the past 14 years and it has helped my clients better understand the thoughts that show up when you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure of yourself. Together, we’ll slow down and explore the stories you may be telling yourself, where those thoughts come from, and how they may be influencing your emotions and choices. Rather than simply trying to “think positively,” we’ll work toward thoughts that feel more realistic, balanced, and compassionate. Over time, you can begin to recognize unhelpful patterns, trust yourself more, and respond to difficult situations with greater clarity and confidence.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) can help you create a different relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than feeling like you have to get rid of them before you can move forward. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, notice the thoughts and feelings that may be getting in the way, and practice making room for them without allowing them to control your choices. ACT can help you step back from self-critical or anxious thoughts, become more present, and make intentional choices that align with your values. The goal isn’t to eliminate everything that feels difficult—it’s to help you feel more equipped to move through life with greater flexibility, self-compassion, and confidence while creating a life that feels meaningful to you.

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling offers a space where your faith can be part of the healing process if that is meaningful to you. Together, we can explore the challenges you’re facing while considering how your relationship with God, Scripture, prayer, and your faith values may provide comfort, perspective, strength, and hope. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, uncertainty, relationship struggles, grief, or a difficult season of life, we can thoughtfully integrate your Christian beliefs into therapy in a way that honors where you are in your faith journey. My goal is to walk alongside you with compassion as you explore your faith, your questions, and your path toward greater peace, purpose, and healing.
