Hello! Sometimes making the decision to attend therapy is the most difficult decision. However, that doesn't mean that therapy will always be easy. When therapy is difficult, you often grow through those difficult experiences. Others would describe me as a "down to earth" type person and able to remain calm in stressful situations. I meet my clients where they are in life and help them stabilize their current situation before diving into other issues. No one is perfect, we all need help sometimes.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In you first meeting with me, we will do what is called an "intake". During this time, you will answer a lot of questions about yourself. This information helps me to get to know you better. I will also review things such as confidentiality, what I am required to report to others, etc. You will have an opportunity to ask questions about how things will go, what therapy looks like. If we have enough time, we will set goals for your treatment. This is your treatment so you are a partner in your care.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for my clients. As a client, you should feel comfortable when in therapy. I do not consider myself to be an expert on you, you know about yourself than anyone else. We are partners through your treatment journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have the most experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, depression, and anxiety. I have worked with children in the foster care system, domestic violence victims, and sexual abuse survivors. I also have experience in working with clients who have life transitions such as young adults transitioning from high school to college and graduating college moving into a career, divorce, losing a loved one, and job transitions. I also help those with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and anyone who has experience trauma including first responders and healthcare workers.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used in treatment to assist in changing behaviors. I have used this treatment modality since I began counseling with others.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing assists in gathering additional information during sessions. Typically these are opened ended questions that require more than "yes" or "no" responses. I have used this treatment modality for three years.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This treatment modality is person-centered meaning that treatment is focused on each client specifically, I have utilized this approach since I began counseling others.

Very warm very peaceful. Human. Great listener. Great advice. Made me feel so comfortable sharing transparently. Uplifting and supportive. I was referred by the wife of one of my dentist (staff) that is a therapist here in miami.
