About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience supporting diverse clients, including individuals facing mental health challenges, trauma survivors, and those navigating life transitions. My professional background includes work in behavioral health hospitals, crisis intervention, and therapy, where I have helped clients feel comforted, empowered, and supported in achieving their goals. I am passionate about creating a safe and collaborative space for healing, utilizing evidence-based approaches that are tailored to each individual's needs. My aim is to guide clients toward recognizing their resilience and celebrating their growth. Additionally, I incorporate the calming presence of my therapy dog, Nox, into sessions for added support when appropriate. Nox is a therapy dog who has visited local hospitals, schools and organizations within the community.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You don’t have to navigate everything on your own. Whether you’re coping with anxiety, trauma, bullying, or major life transitions, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are, process what you’re experiencing, and begin moving toward healing. I specialize in supporting military families, veterans, and children through young adults who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps. My approach is flexible and grounded in evidence-based practices—some clients prefer talking through concerns, while others benefit from expressive therapies such as art-based activities, structured therapeutic games, or guided reflection. Nox, my trained therapy dog, can also be incorporated into sessions as part of animal-assisted interventions. For many clients—especially children—Nox supports grounding skills, emotional regulation, and engagement in the therapeutic process. Even in telehealth sessions, younger clients enjoy interacting with Nox to help identify feelings, practice coping strategies, and build confidence through storytelling and play. Many clients begin therapy feeling anxious, isolated, or burned out, and gradually find themselves feeling more regulated, resilient, and capable of handling life’s challenges. I offer flexible evening, and weekend appointments via telehealth, so therapy fits into your life without adding stress. You deserve care that feels authentic, safe, and adaptable to your needs. If that’s what you’re seeking, I’d be honored to support you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength as a clinician comes from combining real-world crisis experience with a flexible, client-centered therapeutic approach. I’ve spent years working in behavioral health and hospital settings, supporting patients and families through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. This includes crisis intervention, trauma stabilization, end-of-life and hospice conversations, dialysis adjustment, and navigating complex family dynamics. These experiences have shaped my ability to remain calm, clear, and compassionate—especially when people feel overwhelmed or unsure of what comes next. In my clinical work, I rely on evidence-based practices such as CBT, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, and strength-based interventions. I continuously update my practice to stay aligned with current standards and research. At the same time, I adapt each session to the individual: some clients process best through structured conversation, while others benefit from expressive activities, mindfulness tools, or more experiential work. I also incorporate animal-assisted interventions with my therapy dog, Nox. She helps clients regulate, stay grounded, and feel emotionally safe—especially children and teens who may struggle to open up. Even in telehealth settings, Nox offers a calming presence that supports engagement and connection. Overall, what sets me apart is my ability to blend clinical expertise with compassion, flexibility, and real-world crisis experience. I meet clients where they are, help them feel understood, and work with them to build the skills, clarity, and resilience they need to move forward. As a clinical social worker, I don’t just focus on emotional healing—I also look at the real-life barriers that might be affecting your wellbeing. Whether it’s stress at home, school issues, financial strain, access to services, family dynamics, or medical challenges, I can help identify what’s getting in the way and link you to resources that support your whole life, not just your mental health.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am most experiences with clients who are children, teens, young adults, and military-connected individuals who are trying to make sense of what they’re feeling and want to build healthier ways of coping, communicating, and navigating life. I work best with people who are open to participating in the process, even if they feel nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start. While these are the clients I’m especially well-suited to support, I’m open to working with anyone who is willing to show up, put in effort, and collaborate toward meaningful change. If I felt I was not able to meet the needs you deserve I would work to connect you with a new client.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In sessions, I help clients connect their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors so they can better understand why they feel or react the way they do. I use CBT to teach practical coping tools—such as reframing negative thoughts, identifying triggers, and practicing emotion regulation skills. With kids and teens, I often incorporate games, visuals, or storytelling to make CBT more accessible and engaging.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients identify small, realistic steps that move them toward their goals. This is especially helpful in crisis, medical, and school-related situations where clients need clear direction. I focus on what’s working, past successes, and immediate strategies that can create change. It keeps therapy practical and gives clients a sense of progress early on.

Trauma Informed Care

I approach every client with an understanding that past experiences, medical events, family stress, or instability can shape how they think, feel, and react. Because of my background in crisis intervention, work in the ICU and ER, and end-of-life support, I know how to create a calm, steady, and safe environment. In treatment, this means I move at the client’s pace, avoid re-traumatization, validate emotional reactions, and help them feel grounded and in control before exploring deeper work.

Strength-Based

My approach focuses on building confidence and resilience by helping clients recognize the strengths they already have. I highlight the skills they’ve used to survive hard moments, overcome obstacles, or support others. This approach reinforces self-worth, empowers clients, and helps them see themselves as capable—even when life feels chaotic or heavy.

Motivational Interviewing

Because I work with many clients who feel overwhelmed, unsure, or resistant at first, MI helps me meet them where they are. I use open questions, reflections, and collaborative language to help clients explore their goals, ambivalence, and readiness for change. MI allows clients to feel heard and respected while gently guiding them toward insight and internal motivation.
