About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than twenty-seven years of long-term recovery experience and a passion for helping others find freedom from addiction. I specialize in addiction recovery, trauma, and spiritually integrated therapy. My approach blends clinical skill with compassionate presence, using evidence-based practices, faith-informed wisdom, and lived experience. I strive to create a safe, grounded space where clients can explore struggles honestly, discover deeper meaning, and build a life marked by resilience, integrity, and peace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is about getting to know you. We’ll complete a psychosocial assessment — exploring your history, current challenges, and goals. I’ll listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and begin building a safe and trusting relationship where your story can unfold without judgment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring both lived experience and clinical expertise. Clients tell me I’m grounded, compassionate, and direct in a way that feels safe. My strengths include motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and integrating faith for those who desire it.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are seeking freedom from addiction, carrying unresolved trauma, or wanting to integrate spirituality into their healing. My clients are often searching for honesty, clarity, and a deeper sense of meaning in their lives.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to meet you where you are in your recovery journey. This approach helps explore ambivalence, strengthen motivation, and support the changes that matter most to you — at your pace, without pressure or judgment.

Trauma Informed Care

Many people in recovery carry the weight of past trauma. A trauma-informed approach ensures therapy feels safe, supportive, and empowering, recognizing the impact of those experiences while helping you build resilience and reclaim a sense of wholeness.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Grounded in mindfulness and values, ACT helps clients move through pain without resistance and align their lives with what truly matters.

Faith based therapy

For clients who wish to include spirituality in their healing, I offer faith-based therapy that draws from Christian teachings, 12-Step recovery, and contemplative traditions. I never impose beliefs — instead, I support you in exploring your own faith, values, and sense of meaning as part of the recovery journey.

We had a great first couples session with Paul. We like his laid back and down to earth personality, as well as, his process and goals for supporting couples.

Paul is an astute and compassionate couple's therapist. I don't think I could have found anyone better to help navigate a difficult time. Good couple's therapy takes away ambivalence/ambiguity and leaves you with clarity on how to proceed. Paul led us to a lot of clarity. Thank you, Paul.
