I am licensed in Florida and Pennsylvania with 8 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, coping with addictions, relationships and communication, trauma and abuse, & depression. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. My job is to help you utilize those strengths. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we'll start with brief introductions. Then we'll begin to explore what has brought you to seek counseling and discuss what the process will be like now that you are here. This is an information gathering session for me so I can start to get to know you, your goals, and help you formulate a plan for change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a clinician I feel my greatest strength is my calm demeanor. I am fortunate to have a naturally calming presence and believe this is valued by my current clients. I am also very inquisitive and pride myself in asking questions that often deepen exploration and growth in clients.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults who are tired of feeling a certain way or feel they've tried everything to create positive change. My clients are eager to improve but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is a client-centered therapeutic approach designed to help individuals resolve ambivalence and build motivation for change. It encourages collaboration between the therapist and client, rather than the therapist being in a position of authority. It’s meant to evoke intrinsic motivation from the client to make positive changes.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on helping individuals identify and change negative thought patterns, behaviors, and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. The therapy is based on the idea that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that by changing negative thinking, we can change our emotional responses and actions. In CBT, therapists work with clients to recognize distorted thinking, challenge these thoughts, and replace them with more realistic and balanced ones. The therapy often involves practical techniques like problem-solving, behavior modification, and relaxation exercises. It's typically short-term and goal-oriented, with the aim of equipping individuals with tools to cope with life's challenges.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation in therapy refers to the process of providing clients with information and education about their mental health, emotions, behaviors, and coping strategies. It aims to increase the client's understanding of their condition, help normalize their experiences, and empower them to make informed decisions about their treatment. By learning about their mental health, clients can better manage symptoms, understand underlying causes, and improve their overall well-being. Psychoeducation is often integrated into therapy sessions and can involve teaching skills for managing stress, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges.
