Welcome! There is no beauty in "settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." It is time to be courageous and see what might be causing you to settle. In the midst, I will use cognitive behavioral because I know it therapy works in actual clinical practice. While it may require hope, perseverance, and patience, you'll be glad you did! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Illinois, Colorado, and Florida. I received a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University (NU). I am trained with a systemic view of change, using empirically-based information that the profession and I know works. Additionally, I have a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling, focusing on Marriage and Family from Liberty University, obtaining clinical training in faith-based solutions. The convergence of ideologies from these two schools helps my aspirational core values of acceptance, appreciation, diversity and inclusion.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will be different than the rest of our appointments. You get to hear me do a lot of talking about logistics, and things we need to review that are required by law. Additionally, I review how we will approach the therapy. The remaining part of the session we will review what brought you to therapy and how I can help.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with young professionals for the past 7 years, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients experiencing anxiety and/or depression. My clients desire to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In practice we will review your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions. As we learn how they are interconnected, we will break down your problems developing a problem sequence. Once there we will look to lift constraints to bring changes in your daily life.

Christian Counseling

If needed for your therapy we view the treatment through the lens of a Christian worldview.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

As needed by the client we combine training in mindfulness meditation practices with principles from cognitive therapy.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I take holistic approach to healing via engaging all parts of your personality in talk therapy.
