About me

I am an older therapist who loves to work with children, their families or adults seeking connection and support as they navigate life's experiences. I believe everyone, no matter what they lived, deserves to be heard and understood. I came to this career after raising my six children. That experience has given me insight, patience and understanding that benefits my clients.

My treatment methods

Child Parent Psychotherapy

I have been trained in this modality and have been practicing it for 2 1/2 years.this is a helpful modality when mothers bring their won unresolved trauma to their relationship with their children.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been trained in this modality and have been practicing it for 7 years. Often when clients are challenged by trauma work, CBT provides another way to changing thoughts, feelings and actions.

Family Therapy

I have been practicing this for 7 years. When children are having issues that bring them to therapy, I involve parents and other family members as appropriate.

Motivational Interviewing

I use this as a strategy when appropriate. For example, when a client is having difficulties finding reasons for change.

Play Therapy

Young children speak through play. Facilitating either dyadic play with parent and child or solo play for the child, is used to identify issues or trauma the child is experiencing. From there strategies for healing can be identified.
