I’m So Glad You’re Here! I know life is full of highs and lows. No matter what era you’re in, whether navigating substance misuse, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or the challenges of being a people pleaser, I’m here to walk with you. As an LGBTQIA-affirming therapist, my goal is to offer a safe, supportive space where you can be your true self without fear of judgment. Together, we will break painful cycles and empower you to live more authentically.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and establishing a foundation for our work together. I’ll listen to your story, explore the challenges you're facing, and discuss your goals for therapy. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the process and feel comfortable with how we’ll proceed. I take a holistic approach to therapy, which means we’ll look at the whole you—not just your struggles, but your strengths, values, and the unique qualities that make you who you are. My toolkit includes a blend of evidence-based techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and EMDR. Person-Centered Therapy will guide our work by ensuring a non-judgmental, empathetic environment where you feel fully understood. Together, we’ll decide which approaches will be most helpful for your journey. The first session is all about setting the stage for healing, growth, and positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a therapist lie in my ability to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I have a deep empathy for the unique struggles that each individual faces and strive to meet them where they are on their journey. My background in both mental health and substance use allows me to provide a well-rounded approach, offering support that integrates both emotional and practical solutions. Additionally, my holistic approach to therapy—blending techniques like CBT, EMDR, Person-Centered Therapy, and mindfulness—allows me to tailor my work to each client’s specific needs. Above all, my commitment to being an LGBTQIA-affirming, empathetic, and empowering presence in the lives of my clients is at the core of everything I do.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with individuals 18+ and offer both in-person and online therapy. I understand that healing can feel overwhelming at times, but you don’t have to face it alone. With compassion and care, we will work toward your goals together. Take a deep breath— It would be an honor to walk alongside you on this journey toward growth and transformation.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. My experience with CBT has shown me how effective it can be in providing clients with practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, and stress. By collaborating with clients to break down complex issues into manageable steps, I assist them in developing healthier thinking patterns and coping strategies, which significantly improves their emotional well-being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered Therapy has been a cornerstone of my practice, emphasizing the importance of creating a non-judgmental, empathetic environment for clients. I believe in the power of active listening and unconditional positive regard to help clients explore their emotions and gain deeper self-awareness. My experience with this approach has shown that when clients feel fully accepted and understood, they can unlock their own potential for growth, healing, and self-discovery.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness has become an essential part of my therapeutic practice, helping clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations in the present moment. Through mindfulness techniques such as deep breathing, body scans, and guided meditation, I guide clients to cultivate a sense of calm and self-compassion. My experience with mindfulness has shown that it can be incredibly effective in reducing stress, increasing emotional regulation, and enhancing overall well-being, particularly for those struggling with anxiety and chronic pain.

EMDR

Incorporating EMDR into my practice has allowed me to support clients in processing trauma and distressing memories more effectively. Through bilateral stimulation, I guide clients to reframe negative beliefs and integrate healing in a safe and structured way. My experience with EMDR has been transformative for those with PTSD or unresolved trauma, as it helps them reprocess and release deeply held emotional pain, leading to improved mental and emotional health. I offer EMDR exclusively in person, as this approach requires a supportive, in-person setting to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.
