New to Grow
Hi, I’m Sarah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to creating a space where you can feel safe, seen, and heard throughout your healing journey. I believe therapy should be a space where you can explore, heal, and grow at your own pace. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in many unique settings—including schools, telehealth, a state prison, and even a stable using equine-assisted psychotherapy. These experiences have helped me connect with people from all walks of life and meet them wherever they are in their healing process. My approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate. I blend cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness-based strategies to help teens and adults gain insight, manage stress, and build resilience. Every session is tailored to your unique needs and goals, creating a balance between skill-building and open, supportive exploration.
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and start understanding what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what’s been going on for you, what you’d like to work on, and what you hope to change or explore. You can expect me to ask questions to learn about your background and current situation, but there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. It’s normal to feel nervous or unsure at first—my goal is simply to help you start feeling heard, supported, and comfortable.
I strive to create a grounded and compassionate space where you can learn to understand yourself more deeply. By integrating cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches, I help clients strengthen coping skills, challenge unhelpful patterns, and make meaningful changes that support lasting growth and well-being.
I’m best positioned to support adolescents, adults, and families navigating life’s challenges and transitions. I’m especially passionate about working with individuals healing from trauma, identity-related challenges, and past experiences that still shape their daily lives. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and empowered as you rebuild trust in yourself and others.
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients focus on identifying and changing unhelpful patterns of thinking (cognitions), emotional responses, and behaviors.
Motivational interviewing (MI) is best used to help clients resolve ambivalence and strengthen their motivation for positive change.
I implement strength-based therapy (SBT) in order to identify, develop, and leverage a client's innate strengths, resources, and abilities. By emphasizing what is working and what can be built upon, it fosters resilience, confidence, and sustainable personal growth.
Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) focuses on both processing the trauma and strengthening coping strategies to improve functioning. I will act as a guide and support while creating a safe environment to process trauma and teach coping skills. I will balance exposure to trauma with skill building to ensure emotional safety.
