I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in South Texas, dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health support. With experience working with diverse populations, including children and teens, I specialize in helping clients navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. My approach is centered on creating a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their thoughts and emotions while developing the tools they need to thrive. I have worked with clients facing a variety of concerns, including trauma and abuse, stress and anxiety, depression, family dynamics, gender identity exploration, and self-esteem challenges. My goal is to empower each person I work with by fostering growth, healing, and emotional well-being. No matter what you are facing, I am here to support you on your journey toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will take time to get to know each other and explore the specific challenges that led you to seek therapy. I will ask questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of your experiences and how these difficulties are impacting your life. At the same time, I encourage you to ask me any questions you may have, as building trust is essential for effective therapy. I believe the best therapeutic work happens when there is a strong foundation of trust, and that begins with mutual understanding. We will conclude the session with an introduction to the therapeutic approaches we will be using and how they will help you reach your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey, where you are the expert on your own life. My role is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Together, we’ll work toward your goals using research-based practices tailored to your unique needs. My experience working with diverse and underserved communities has deepened my understanding of different life experiences, allowing me to meet each client with compassion, respect, and an open mind. While I offer guidance and support, I also encourage and challenge you to take an active role in your healing and growth.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and women, providing a supportive and understanding space where they can feel heard and valued. My experience includes working with children, teens, and young adults from diverse backgrounds, including multicultural communities and individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that everyone deserves access to quality mental health care, and I am passionate about advocating for those who are often underrepresented or marginalized. My goal is to create a safe and inclusive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges with compassion and support.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Through mindfulness-based therapy, I have helped many clients develop present-moment awareness, allowing them to break free from unhelpful and negative thought patterns. Together, we will use mindfulness techniques to deepen awareness of your thoughts and emotions, understand your underlying needs, and develop effective strategies for managing distressing thoughts.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) combined with mindfulness to support my clients. This approach helps identify and challenge unhelpful or intrusive thoughts that contribute to anxiety and stress. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts are shaped by your experiences and how they influence your emotions and behaviors. Through CBT, we’ll work on reshaping these patterns, allowing you to develop healthier, more balanced ways of thinking and feeling.

EMDR

I am a certified EMDR practitioner and use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help both adults and adolescents who are struggling with trauma and anxiety. EMDR is a powerful therapy that helps people process difficult experiences, lessen the emotional weight of painful memories, and move toward healing. I tailor EMDR to each person’s needs, making sure the process feels safe and manageable. For adolescents, I adjust the approach to make it more engaging and comfortable, while with adults, I ensure we move at a pace that feels right for them.
