Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in Texas for the past five years. I specialize in assisting teens, young adults, and professionals in navigating various life transitions, such as those related to school, career, and divorce. My primary objective is to help clients manage the challenges that often accompany these transitions. Although some changes are anticipated, they can still present difficulties and may lead to feelings of doubt, anxiety, or confusion.
The first session will focus on building the therapeutic relationship, establishing trust, and gathering detailed information about the client's concerns and history. I want to learn more about my clients and understand their goals for therapy. It's also a great time to determine if we are a good fit.
My experience has helped me approach every client with empathy and positive regard. I recognize my clients' strengths, even when they can't see them. I aim to provide a non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe to open up, explore their concerns, and work toward achieving their personal life goals. I understand that treatment is not one-size-fits-all, so I tailor my approach to meet each client where they are, acknowledging their unique journeys toward change.
I enjoy working with clients navigating life changes, whether it's concerns about college, career shifts, or general adult challenges. These transitions can be tough to manage alone or within existing support systems. Many clients may not feel comfortable seeking help from those around them, and external support can be vital in addressing their overwhelming feelings or sense of being stuck.
I employ a strengths-based approach that focuses on harnessing my clients' unique positive attributes, valuable life skills, and rich experiences. By identifying and amplifying these strengths, I aim to facilitate their personal growth and empower them to reach their goals. This method allows clients to build on their existing capabilities, fostering confidence and resilience as they navigate their journey toward fulfillment.
My goal is to cultivate an inviting and inclusive environment where clients can feel safe to explore and embrace their cultural identity as a vital part of their care journey. I actively encourage clients to express themselves authentically, honoring their individuality and unique experiences. I firmly believe in moving away from a one-size-fits-all approach, which often reflects the dominant societal narrative and overlooks the rich tapestry of diverse cultural identities. Instead, I strive to tailor care that respects and integrates each person's distinct background, allowing for a more personalized and meaningful experience.
I provide clients with compassionate validation and deep emotional support as we work together to navigate the diverse challenges they encounter in their lives. By actively listening and demonstrating empathy, I aim to create a safe and nurturing environment that encourages open communication. This supportive relationship helps clients feel acknowledged and understood, validating their feelings and emotions while recognizing their desires and needs. Through this collaborative process, clients can gain clarity, build resilience, and move toward positive changes in their lives.
