About me

Hi, I am so happy you are here. Congratulations for taking the first steps towards a better you! My name is Janel and I am licensed in Texas with 16 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients (adults and teens) coping with addictions, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, & depression. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect to feel hopeful about the future, feel heard, understood, and have a clearer vision of their future. We will start with a deep dive of your past and bring us to current day.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Positive, Supportive and Encouraging and Direct. I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My clients are eager to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their past and future.

I use a warm friendly non-judgmental empowering eclectic approach from DBT, CBT, ACT, and Person-Center approaches. DBT uses the best of our emotional mind and our rational mind to create "wise mind" perspective. Cognitive behavioral therapy works on cognitive distortions (negative self talk) and enhancing positive behaviors and decreasing negative behaviors. ACT works on acceptance of where we are and circumstances we have no control over. Person center takes me into your inner world and support you from your cultural, religious and personal values.
