New to Grow
Hello, I’m Joanna, a compassionate and experienced therapist dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges. At Prestige Therapy, we walk this journey together. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as we work toward healing and growth. I am a dedicated therapist committed to providing compassionate, high-quality counseling through meaningful conversation and connection. As I continue my doctorate, I bring both advanced knowledge and a deep commitment to showing up fully for you. I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from NKU with honors, concentrating in Trauma-Informed Care. With over eight years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings—including psychiatry, child welfare, juvenile court, and community-based services—I am here to support you with a wide range of tools and perspectives. Our work together will be guided by holistic and evidence-based practices tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're navigating stress, trauma, emotional challenges, or major life changes, we will take each step with intention and care. I believe in the power of the “E’s”—excellence, empathy, encouragement, and empowerment—and I strive to bring these values into every session so you can feel confident, understood, and supported throughout your healing journey.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building a comfortable, trusting connection. I’ll ask questions to learn more about your goals, background, and what brings you to therapy. Together, we’ll discuss what you hope to achieve and begin creating a plan that fits your needs. It’s a relaxed, judgment-free space where you can share at your own pace.
My greatest strengths include building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe, supportive space where you feel understood and empowered. What stands out about my approach is my ability to blend evidence-based methods—such as CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing—with empathy and authenticity. I focus on helping you develop practical coping skills, increase your self-awareness, and make meaningful, lasting changes in your life.
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to work on personal growth, manage life stressors, and improve their emotional well-being. I’m best suited to support those struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, or life transitions, helping them build healthier coping skills, improve focus, and manage emotions. I work well with individuals who are open to self-reflection and motivated to create lasting, positive change in their lives.
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thoughts that influence emotions and behaviors. In my practice, I use CBT techniques like thought reframing, behavioral activation, and coping skill development to promote healthier thinking patterns and emotional regulation. It’s a goal-focused, practical approach that empowers clients to create lasting change.
