About me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) serving Alabama and Missouri. I am certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I am a Board Certified Telemental Health Provider. I have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years and serving as a counselor for 9 of those years. I serve patients ages 4+ and their families.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the initial session, we will discuss your presenting issues and create a list of goals you wish to achieve in counseling. We will work to ensure you have healthy coping skills and strategies to effectively manage life's stress and transitions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my time as a counselor, I have come to believe that each person is the expert on their story. I also believe that we each have strengths that assist us in overcoming things that challenge us.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I support individuals dealing with any form of trauma, stress, anxiety and depression, and family conflict.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented talk therapy that helps people understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. It operates on the idea that thoughts, feelings, and actions are all interconnected, and by altering one, you can positively influence the others.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based, short-term treatment designed to help children, adolescents, and their non-offending caregivers recover from the negative effects of trauma. The structured therapy model aims to reduce emotional and behavioral symptoms, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety, and is effective for a range of traumatic experiences.

Reality Therapy

Reality therapy is a client-centered form of cognitive-behavioral therapy that focuses on improving present relationships and circumstances, with less concern and discussion of past events. This approach is based on the idea that our most important need is to be loved, to feel that we belong and that all other basic needs can be satisfied only by building strong connections with others. Reality therapy sees behavior as choices, and it teaches us that while we cannot control how we feel, we can control how we think and behave.
