LMHC, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
Welcome to Moss + Moon Soulworks. My name is Sherri, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience helping clients heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves. My own journey of transformation and empowerment feeds my passion to guide others on theirs. My clinical style is a “mix tape” of intuition, honesty, humor, and compassion, grounded in the warmth of your favorite auntie. I embody the spirituality of Neo Soul, with a splash of ancestral wisdom. Sessions with me are a blend of genuine conversation, reflection, and healing energy that fosters authenticity and growth.
In our sessions, you’ll have the space to feel truly seen and supported as you reconnect with your strengths and sense of purpose. Together, we’ll clarify your goals, understand what’s been standing in your way, and build practical tools to help you set boundaries, release old patterns, and create lasting peace and fulfillment.
What sets me apart as a therapist is my ability to blend evidence-based clinical expertise with cultural wisdom, authenticity, and heart. I bring over 20 years of experience, rooted in both professional training and a lived understanding of the unique challenges that Black and Latina women face in balancing strength, survival, and softness. My approach centers on the experiences of women who have learned to carry everything: career, family, and emotional responsibility, and often neglect their own peace. I create a therapeutic space that honors your culture, your story, and your resilience. In our work together, you can expect a mix of realness, safety, humor, and compassion. My goal is not just to help you heal, but to help you reconnect with your wholeness, to move beyond survival into a life of balance, clarity, and confidence.
I specialize in supporting Black and Latina women who are navigating trauma recovery, balancing the demands of parenting, rebuilding after toxic relationships, or managing anxiety while excelling in high-performance careers. My mission is to create a safe and affirming space where you can lay down what’s been heavy, honor your experiences, and move toward greater peace, clarity, and confidence, both personally and professionally. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, somatic awareness, and attachment-focused interventions to help you understand how your mind, body, and emotions work together. For women in demanding professional roles, we’ll also explore how perfectionism, pressure, and self-expectations can impact your well-being, and build tools to help you lead, care, and show up for yourself with balance and intention. I believe healing is both sacred and practical, a process of deep emotional insight paired with meaningful, actionable change.
For over 20 years, I’ve used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. CBT is a well-researched, evidence-based approach proven to effectively reduce anxiety, depression, and stress while improving overall emotional wellness. In our sessions, I use CBT techniques to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge negative beliefs, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. Together, we’ll focus on practical strategies that promote self-awareness, emotional balance, and lasting change. My goal is to empower you with tools you can use both in and outside of therapy to support your ongoing growth and healing.
I integrate attachment-based interventions to help clients understand how early relationship experiences shape the way they connect, trust, and relate to others today. For over two decades, I’ve supported clients in recognizing patterns that stem from unmet emotional needs, helping them build healthier, more secure connections in their relationships and with themselves. In our sessions, we’ll explore these dynamics with compassion and curiosity, creating space for healing, emotional safety, and deeper self-understanding.
I also incorporate somatic (body-centered) practices that focus on the mind-body connection in the healing process. Trauma and stress often live in the body, not just in our thoughts, and somatic work allows us to safely release what words alone can’t reach. Through grounding, breathwork, mindfulness, and gentle body awareness, I help clients reconnect with their physical presence, restore a sense of safety, and cultivate a sense of calm. These practices support deeper healing and empower you to feel more balanced, regulated, and at home within yourself.
