In the first therapy session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where they can begin their journey toward healing. Here’s what typically happens: Introduction & Rapport Building – The therapist will introduce themselves, explain their approach, and create a safe, non-judgmental space for open conversation. Discussion of Confidentiality – Clients will learn about confidentiality, its limits, and how their information is protected. Exploring Concerns & Goals – The therapist will ask about what brings the client to therapy, their current struggles, and what they hope to achieve

I have worked with a variety of client's specifically I am a veteran and military spouse. - I understand the unique experiences of service members, veterans, and their families, including combat stress, reintegration challenges, and military culture. - I provide support for managing service-related trauma, and strengthening relationships. - I work with adults, adolescents, and families dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. - My approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and coping strategies to improve emotional well-being. I also support those battling substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and co-occurring mental health concerns by incorporating harm reduction strategies, relapse prevention plans, and behavioral interventions to promote long-term recovery. Overall, I provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy tailored to each client’s needs, empowering them to overcome challenges and build a healthier future.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is structured, goal-oriented, and evidence-based, making it effective for anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. The client learns to recognize automatic negative thoughts contributing to emotional distress. The therapist helps challenge and reframe irrational or unhelpful thoughts into more balanced perspectives. As well as encourages the client to engage in positive activities to improve mood and break avoidance patterns.
