Hello, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California. I have been an LCSW for 6 years and have been doing outpatient care since then. I work with individuals from 13 to 64. Prior to getting my license, I worked in a nonprofit setting and gained experience in treating adults who struggled with mood disorders and destructive behaviors. I received my Masters from California State University of Long Beach in 2014 with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, I will get to know what brought you in and how long you have been struggling. By getting to know whether this is the first time you have had these symptoms, we will be able to create goals on where you want to be in 6 months.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a provider is my flexibility, ability to be straightforward, and calm demeanor. I have been working in an outpatient setting for 6 years and have helped many adults who struggle with transitions in their life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Hello, my name is Zaheen. You should be proud of yourself for seeking therapy. Whether you are going through a hard time right now or prefer to always have a therapist part of your support system. I like to create a safe non-judgmental space for my patients so they have sounding board for the decisions they are stuck on. As a BIPOC person, I use a person in environment model when helping my patients as our culture, society, and current events influence us and our mood.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My style is eclectic and comes from my training as a social worker. I teach psychoeducation so my patients build insight on their symptoms and behaviors. Once the foundation is strong then I like to use cognitive behavioral therapy to teach how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By doing this we can reduce your stress, anxiety, or depression. Lastly, I like to use strength based interventions to remind you of your resilience as it is hard to see our abilities when we are depressed or feeling inadequate.
