About me

Welcome! I’m Shametrius Bradley, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma therapist. I am passionate about supporting women and trauma survivors as they take steps toward healing, growth, and reclaiming their sense of self. I provide a safe and compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore your experiences and create the life you want. I work with clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or major life transitions. My goal is to help you recognize your strengths, process difficult experiences, and develop practical tools to manage emotions, build resilience, and feel more confident in your everyday life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel exciting and a little overwhelming. In our first session, we’ll get to know each other, explore what brought you here, and clarify your goals. You can ask any questions about the process, and together we’ll figure out what feels safe, supportive, and empowering for you. This session is about connection, trust, and leaving with a sense of clarity and hope for your journey ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Clients often tell me they feel truly seen and understood in our work together. I bring empathy, patience, and genuine curiosity to every session. My experience spans community programs, private practice, hospital social work, and crisis intervention, giving me insight into the challenges people face and the resilience they carry. I celebrate my clients’ strengths, help them uncover their inner resources, and guide them toward meaningful, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are a woman who has experienced trauma, violence, exploitation, or struggles with self-worth, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, I see you. I know that taking the first step toward therapy can feel both empowering and overwhelming, and I want you to know that you don’t have to face this journey alone. In our work together, I focus on helping you feel heard, supported, and understood. We will explore the challenges that have brought you here while uncovering the strengths and resilience you already possess. My goal is to help you build confidence, develop practical tools for coping, and reclaim a sense of agency and empowerment in your life. Whether you want to process past experiences, improve self-esteem, manage emotions, or navigate major life changes, my practice is a safe and compassionate space for growth. When you’re ready to take the next step toward healing and living a life that reflects your strength and potential, I’m here to walk alongside you.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I completed EMDR training in May 2025 and have used it with women healing from trauma related to violence and exploitation. EMDR helps process painful memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or defining. In our work together, we focus on safety, trust, and pacing, helping you release old patterns and move toward healing, peace, and renewed confidence.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have been using ACT since 2023 with clients from many different backgrounds. This approach helps you create space for difficult thoughts and emotions while focusing on what truly matters to you. In our work together, we strengthen self-compassion, build awareness, and take steps toward a life that feels authentic, meaningful, and aligned with your values.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT for six years with clients from diverse backgrounds. This approach helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify patterns that may be holding you back and explore new ways of thinking and responding that support healing, confidence, and balance. CBT provides practical tools to manage stress, anxiety, and self-doubt while fostering long-term growth.

Strength-Based

I have used a strengths-based approach throughout my six years of practice, as it is at the heart of social work. This approach focuses on your resilience, values, and inner resources rather than just the challenges you face. Together, we build on what is already strong within you to support growth, healing, and lasting change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been using DBT for six years and recently completed an advanced DBT certification. DBT helps clients manage intense emotions, build balance, and strengthen relationships. In our work, we focus on skills like mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to support you in feeling grounded, in control, and at peace with yourself and others.
