LPC, 16 years of experience
New to Grow
I am fully bilingual in Spanish and English. I have 10+ years of experience working with children and adults providing individual and family counseling, including extensive experience providing trauma-informed care with immigrant families and youth involved with the foster care and juvenile justice systems. I will strive to instill hope by empowering clients to discover and build on their own strengths. I believe therapy can help individuals navigate through difficulties so it doesn't feel like we are doing it alone. Come with me to the journey of introspection and we will find healing in the end.
During this session we will get background information related to the reason for visit. The session is going to last about 60 minutes and will be divided into 3 parts, confidentiality and legal issues that we need to discuss, what motivated you to get therapy and we will end with creating goals.

Life challenges such as depression, anxiety, transitions, grief, relationships, or immigration can be difficult at all ages of life. Having a passionate therapist with a trauma-informed approach who believes in individualizing treatment to your specific needs is key during the healing process.
We will work together to understand the link between specific thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that contribute to difficulties.
I will aim to improve attachment patterns, which are the emotional bonds formed between individuals, typically between caregivers and children.
This intervention helps people become motivated to change the behaviors that are preventing them from making healthier choices. It can also prepare individuals for further, more specific types of therapies. Research has shown that this intervention works well with individuals who start off unmotivated or unprepared for change. It is less useful for those who are already motivated to change. Motivational interviewing is also appropriate for people who are angry or hostile. They may not be ready to commit to change, but motivational interviewing can help them move through the emotional stages of change necessary to find their motivation.
I will strive to help help individuals cope with and adapt to a significant loss, such as the death of a loved one, by addressing the physical, emotional, and cognitive aspects of grief. Therapies like complicated grief treatment (CGT) focus on resolving extreme grief reactions and helping people adapt by creating future goals and finding new perspectives on the loss. Therapy may involve processing thoughts and emotions, improving coping skills, reducing feelings of blame or guilt, and potentially retelling the story of the loss to alleviate distress.
I will offer flexible, holistic approach that combines techniques and ideas from various psychotherapy traditions to create a treatment plan tailored to an individual's unique needs, addressing their psychological, emotional, and physical well-being. Rather than adhering to a single theory, it draws from different therapeutic models, such as psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic, to offer a comprehensive and personalized healing experience for a wide range of mental health concerns
