Hello, I am Dr. Andy Davis. I have been involved in the mental health field for more than 15 years, 10 years of which I've practiced as a licensed psychologist both in the U.S. Air Force and in private practice. I have a varied experience helping those with depression, PTSD, anxiety and stress, grief, personality disorders, and LGBTQ+ issues. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can discuss and work through any issues they feel are important.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During first sessions I like to spend time listening to a client, hearing their story, and understanding their needs. I also like to set initial goals for therapy. I ask questions and try to help clients visualize how they can make their lives better.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am committed to my clients and strive for personal connections. I offer flexible scheduling and multiple communication methods.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My experience has mostly been working with military service members, first responders, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. However, throughout my 15+ year career, I have found that almost anyone can be helped through whatever issues they face. I keep an open mind and a non-judgmental approach to working with new clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I place a large emphasis on helping clients challenge negative thoughts with fact-based solutions. I want to provide each client with the tools needed to work through their problems and focus on improving their lives.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

When employing Solutions Focused therapy, I concentrate on being goal-focused, future-oriented, concentrating on finding solutions to problems faced by clients. I understand that a lot of clients come to teletherapy faced with many short-term issues that require immediate solutions. I try to help them achieve that.
