Hello and Welcome! My name is Shelby Harvey and I am an LCPC in Illinois. I was born and raised in Central Illinois where I still reside with my family. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Illinois University and my Masters Degree in Counseling from Lincoln Christian University. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, substance use treatment facilities, school-based settings and private practice. I enjoy working with young adults and couples. My style for therapy is warm and person centered. I believe you are the expert on your life and my role is to support you as you find your answers and challenge you to try new things as needed. I want to be a part of your journey towards becoming the successful individual you want to become.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we'll start with brief introductions then discuss your concerns or problems and at the end we will begin to develop a plan of action for our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my biggest strengths are being empathetic and person centered. I am willing to meet you wherever you are on your journey and build a path forward with you. I do not make a plan for you and I do not have goals for you that you don't have for yourself.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with teenagers and young adults as they navigate all of life's challenges ans changes. I also love working with couples as they navigate life together.
