A bit about my approach to therapy... I specialize in therapy for adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use, or all of the above! I utilize solution-focused interventions, motivational interviewing, CBT, and DBT techniques to meet the needs of my clients. I am a strong advocate for you, and work collaboratively with my clients to create a treatment plan that capitalizes on your strengths.
I will use our first session to get to know you and your strengths, as well as work together to create a plan to help you meet your goals. I welcome you to reach out to begin our journey together. Email me to get started, and I will be happy to answer any questions you have about therapy or my collaborative, strengths-based approach. I also welcome a complimentary consultation phone call to discuss whether we would be a good fit.
I am passionate about my work and am a strong advocate for clients. I welcome feedback and encourage it! Therapy should be a positive experience and a safe space for all clients to be able to share their hopes, dreams, and desires.
If you’re navigating individual, parenting, family, substance use, or other life challenges, I look forward to meeting with you! Throughout my training and experience, I have provided individual, group, and family counseling in community, child welfare, and substance use treatment settings. I hold a Master of Arts degree from Waynesburg University, with a concentration in Addiction Counseling. I recently completed training in EMDR and am thrilled to be able to provide this modality to my clients who have experienced trauma. I work from a client-centered approach and consider myself a guest on your journey to hope, wellness, and strength.
I utilize CBT to engage clients in identifying and challenging thought patterns that underlie our moods and behaviors.
I use various DBT techniques to provide clients practical tools to manage emotions.
I have experience and training in both structural and functional family therapy techniques and use both to improve communication, reduce conflict, and increase positive interactions with family members.
I utilize motivation interviewing to help you set your goals, identify and remove barriers, and build on personal strengths.
I am trained in phase one of EMDR and use this technique to support clients in reducing symptoms caused by previous trauma, including complex trauma.
