Welcome! I'm Ian, and I'm here to help you navigate life's challenges and uncover the strength to create meaningful change. Starting therapy can feel both exciting and intimidating, but my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore concerns like anxiety, depression, and self-care. I focus on helping clients develop assertive communication, healthy boundaries, and practical tools to enhance their relationships and overall quality of life. Therapy is a powerful tool for personal growth, and together, we can work toward building the fulfilling life you deserve. I'm here when you're ready to take that step.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll start with brief introductions before diving into what brings you to therapy. I'll ask questions to gather a detailed picture of your background, current challenges, and goals so I can best support you. This session is typically more focused on me getting to know you, so I may ask more questions than in future sessions. I also want to ensure you feel comfortable, so there will be plenty of space for you to ask questions about my experience, style, or anything else that helps you feel at ease as we begin this journey together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can openly explore their challenges. I approach therapy with warmth, empathy, and curiosity, helping clients feel supported as they navigate difficult emotions and experiences. I'm skilled at tailoring evidence-based approaches like EMDR, attachment-based therapy, and mindfulness techniques to meet each client's unique needs. With a deep understanding of how relationships and past experiences shape our emotional lives, I work collaboratively with clients to help them heal, grow, and build meaningful, fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with clients navigating major life transitions, healing from past trauma, or feeling stuck in their relationships or personal goals. Trauma and life's changes can feel overwhelming, leaving us unsure of the next step or burdened by self-doubt. Using approaches like EMDR and attachment-based techniques, I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space for clients to process their experiences, heal emotional wounds, and build the resilience needed to move forward. Whether you're working through the effects of trauma, seeking healthier connections, or striving to rediscover purpose and meaning, I'm here to help you overcome obstacles and create a life that feels authentic and fulfilling.

My treatment methods

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is widely regarded as the gold standard for trauma treatment. This powerful, evidence-based approach is designed to help client process traumatic memories and the negative beliefs tied to them. EMDR provides a safe way to work through painful experiences, unlocking the brain's natural capacity for healing and growth. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, or self-esteem challenges, I can guide you through this transformative method to find relief, resilience, and lasting change.

Attachment-based

Our earliest relationships profoundly shape how we see ourselves and how we connect with others. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore how these early experiences have helped shape their emotions, behaviors, and beliefs. By fostering this understanding, I aim to help clients improve emotional regulation, heal relational patterns, and build deeper, more fulfilling connections.

Couples Counseling

Romantic relationships involve navigating a complex blend of roles -- partners, friends, lovers, co-parents, and more. Drawing on my training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman Couples Therapy, I help couples explore how past experiences - whether from family or previous relationships - may contribute to tension or misunderstandings today. My goal is to empower partners to communicate openly, resolve conflicts collaboratively, and rekindle their emotional and physical connection.
