About me

Hello! I'm a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I've been treating clients with a wide array of issues for the past 9 years. I started my career in community mental health working with families, teens and children and eventually moved into private practice work treating individuals and couples via telehealth. My clients benefit from an eclectic approach to therapy, where I utilize the best techniques from DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, ESFT, Gottman, and Person-Centered therapies. My clients have expressed increased confidence in their abilities to manage stress, anxiety, and depressive symptoms through these approaches.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, also known as the "intake session," I spend time getting to know my clients and their reasons for seeking out therapy. This is a very laid-back, loose style of interviewing that's used to better understand my clients needs and to openly discuss how therapy can benefit them.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked with clients of all ages, I've been able to adapt and adjust treatment as needed to meet each individual's needs. Working with individuals of all populations, in a variety of settings, has allowed me to understand and experience firsthand the challenges and difficulties people face throughout each stage of life. As a provider, the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance to me. Over the years, my clients have expressed feeling very comfortable and at ease in expressing their deepest, inner most thoughts and emotions in a very non-judgmental environment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with individuals of all ages, as each age bracket has it's own unique issues and challenges! I enjoy working with clients who have the desire and willingness to learn new approaches. Together, we can build a "tool box" of go-to coping strategies.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as a preferred therapeutic approach, as it allows me to focus on the connection between my clients' thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT helps the client identify and change negative and/or distorted thoughts, unhelpful patterns of thinking, and behavior that often contributes to their difficulties. I enjoy this approach because it emphasizes a collaborative process between myself and the client. Together, we will work on identifying and understanding the client's problems, set goals, and develop strategies to achieve those goals. During the intake session, an initial assessment is completed to gather information about my client's challenges, history and goals, this information will then be used to formulate a treatment plan with the client that will outline specific strategies and techniques to address their identified problems. Throughout the therapeutic process, my clients are taught coping skills such as relaxation techniques, problem-solving skills, and emotion regulation strategies. In using CBT, I sometimes find it helpful to assign clients homework tasks to practice and reinforce the skills learned in session. Overall, my approach is quite collaborative! I like to regularly review progress with my clients, seek feedback on the effectiveness of the interventions used and make any necessary adjustments to the treatment plan. Ultimately, the goal is to help the client develop more adaptive thought patterns, healthier behaviors and improved emotional well-being. As a final note, CBT is a structured and evidence-based approach that has shown to be effective in treating a range of mental health issues.
