I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma, anxiety, family systems, and addiction recovery. My mission is to meet you where you are, understanding the unique experiences that have shaped you, and help you overcome life’s challenges, discovering the best version of yourself along the way. I work with adults, adolescents, and families, offering a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where we will work together towards healing, growth, and resilience. I believe that the therapeutic journey is one of partnership. I am here to provide honest feedback, compassionate support, and tailored guidance as we navigate the journey towards your goals together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment where you are free to share your story at your own pace. We will work together to explore what brings you to therapy, and I will take the time to understand your current needs, strengths, and challenges. Together, we will set meaningful goals and create a personalized plan to address your unique challenges. This is a collaborative space where you can ask questions and feel heard. I will explain my therapeutic approach, and together, we will determine the best path forward. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling hopeful, understood, and confident that you have taken an important first step towards your healing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths include my extensive background in trauma and addiction recovery, which allows me to effectively support clients through difficult and complex experiences. I am also bilingual, which helps me connect with a diverse range of clients, and I have significant experience working with first responders and military personnel, which gives me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by these communities. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, CBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing, and I use these tools to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. Throughout our sessions, I aim to provide open and honest feedback, compassionate support, and practical strategies to help you overcome obstacles, learn new skills, and make meaningful progress towards your goals. I view therapy as a collaborative journey where we work together to help you find healing and growth.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals dealing with trauma, addiction recovery, anxiety, or navigating significant life changes. My ideal clients are those who are ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery, open to exploring their emotions, and willing to take meaningful steps towards their personal goals. Whether you are struggling to process past experiences, searching for a sense of stability, or trying to break unhealthy habits, I am here to help. I strive to meet each client where they are, honoring their unique journey, and I value working with those who are ready to engage actively in the therapeutic process. Together, we can create a plan that supports your well-being, empowers you, and helps you build the life you desire.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I integrate ACT to help clients identify their values and commit to actions aligned with these values, even in the presence of distressing emotions. Through mindfulness exercises and value clarification, clients learn to accept difficult feelings rather than struggle against them, facilitating personal growth and well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to assist clients in recognizing and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors. Together, we identify cognitive distortions and develop more adaptive ways of thinking, ultimately improving emotional regulation and reducing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and stress.

Motivational Interviewing

I apply Motivational Interviewing to facilitate clients' intrinsic motivation for change. By exploring ambivalence and building on their strengths, clients can find the motivation needed to pursue meaningful changes, whether related to substance use, health behaviors, or other life challenges.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I incorporate DBT strategies to help clients manage intense emotions and develop effective interpersonal skills. This involves using mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness techniques, especially for those struggling with emotional dysregulation or impulsive behaviors.

EMDR

I use EMDR to process traumatic experiences in a structured way, reducing the emotional impact of distressing memories. Through bilateral stimulation, clients can reprocess these memories and reduce the negative beliefs associated with trauma, leading to a significant reduction in PTSD symptoms.
