Choosing to seek out therapy can be a difficult, but monumetus step. While changing behaviors and feelings is always tricky, it is never something that we need to face alone. I know that coming to therapy and committing to show up for themselves every week requires strength from my clients. Therefore, I strive to help them get the most out of their experience.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect a compassionate, non-judgmental space where your safety and comfort are prioritized. We will take time to understand your unique experiences and ensure you feel heard and validated. We may review history, including past traumas, current concerns, and what brings you to therapy, but will always allow you to share at your own pace. The session will focus on building trust and establishing a collaborative relationship. The focus moving forward may be identifying how the past, present, and future can affect your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors, and introducing techniques to help regulate your emotions and ground yourself when feeling overwhelmed. You won’t be rushed into discussing painful memories; instead, we will build the space for you to feel in control of your healing process. The goal of this first session is to set a foundation for future work, where you feel safe, empowered, and supported as you begin your journey toward healing

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I utilize evidence-based practices and strive to help my clients build healthy coping skills, improve self-esteem, and empower them to reach their mental health goals. I do this by assisting clients in articulating connections between thoughts, feelings, and actions to understand better where they have been and what direction they now wish to go.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy certified provider. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a form of cognitive behavioral therapy designed to help individuals manage intense emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and improve relationships. In individual therapy, DBT is used through weekly one-on-one sessions where the therapist and client collaboratively identify treatment goals, such as reducing life-threatening or quality-of-life-interfering behaviors. The therapist balances acceptance and change strategies-validating the client’s current feelings and experiences while also encouraging behavioral change.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals, particularly children and adolescents, process and heal from traumatic experiences. This structured therapy integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive interventions to reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. In individual therapy, TF-CBT is used to help clients understand and reframe distressing thoughts related to their trauma. It includes psychoeducation, coping strategies, gradual exposure to traumatic memories, and cognitive restructuring to challenge unhelpful beliefs. Therapists work collaboratively with clients to build resilience and enhance emotional regulation while fostering a sense of safety and empowerment.

Couples Counseling

Throughout my experience as a couples therapist, I have found both the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to be invaluable in helping partners rebuild connection, trust, and understanding. Each approach offers distinct but complementary strategies that guide couples toward healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Together, these approaches allow me to tailor therapy to each couple’s needs—balancing logical, structured interventions with emotionally driven healing. Witnessing partners transform their relationships through these methods has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my practice.

Family Therapy

I have witnessed firsthand how strengthening familial relationships leads to lasting emotional and psychological well-being. Working closely with families, I utilize a systemic approach, helping them navigate challenges such as communication breakdowns, behavioral struggles, and unresolved conflicts. By fostering open dialogue and encouraging collaboration, I guide families in building healthier dynamics rooted in understanding and support.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Throughout my experience as a therapist utilizing Mindfulness-Based Therapy, I have seen the profound impact of present-moment awareness on emotional well-being. Integrating mindfulness into individual therapy allows clients to develop a deeper connection with their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations without judgment. In my practice, I often guide clients through breathing exercises, body scans, and meditation techniques to help them cultivate self-awareness and emotional regulation. Many individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma find relief by learning to observe their thoughts rather than becoming overwhelmed by them. Teaching clients to focus on the here and now helps reduce rumination and encourages a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
